Lastes SAB creation

Well it's official, the Sale-A-Bration promotion comes to and end for another year today. It's not too late to place an order or join Team Jelly! I received two orders this morning and some completed application forms so if you want to take advantage of these last few hours please email me or call me on 07748 707845!

As all good things come to an end I was stuck wondering which of the limited edition Sale-A-Bration sets to use on my last creation and decided to use all four! So here you are:

I've used Crumb Cake card for my base and added some paper from Woodland Walk. the first SAB set I used was the very gorgeous Bliss to stamp the background flourish in Crumb Cake ink. Next using the same ink I stamped the sentiment from So Happy For You, followed by the little bird from Sweet Summer. Added a bit of shading with the Crumb Cake Marker too.

Next was stamping the fabulous owl from Punch Bunch in Marina Mist on to Whisper White and then again in Early Espresso on to some patterned paper to do a spot of paper piecing. I pleated on some Marina Mist satin ribbon and added a few self adhesive pearls.

Zac has returned to pre-school this morning following the half term break and much as I've been trying to fight it off I have caught a sore throat and swollen glands off Blake. I was half expecting Zac to wake up with it so am pleased he hasn't missed his first day back at school. So I'm going to dose myself up and try to get rid of this thing before it gets worse!

Last Sweet Summer from me

This is the last time you will see a new project featuring the Sale-A-Bration set Sweet Summer as you can only get your mits on it up until tomorrow afternoon! It's not too late to order, you just need to be quick! Here's my card:

I've used Rich Razzleberry for my card base and stamped the flowers with Versamark ink, heat embossing with white embossing powder. The ribbon is Certainly Celery satin ribbon (which you can get as part of my current ribbon share - 24 metres for £22 including postage) and I've just pleated it on to the card using sticky strip to hold it in place.

I've added some self adhesive pearls to the flowers with some larger ones on the end of the ribbon. I daubed the colour on with Versamark ink and then Rich Razzleberry and left to dry.

Off for some family time now and back tomorrow with my last offering for this year's Sale-A-Bration promotion!

So Happy For You

Sweet Summer

Punch Bunch

All the Punch Bunch stamps have co-ordinating punches so that idle crafters like myself don't have to do too much scissor action. Well, we don't have the owl punch just yet, but the good news is you'll be able to buy him in April when the new mini catalogue is launched!!!

So of course I have already had a play with some of these stamps - it would have been rude not to! Here are some cards I made using on of the stamps from Punch Bunch:

I had to pick a simple design as I have made just over 200 of these, also why I went with three different colour combos, all of which were chosen using the Colour Coach. I've also using the crimping tool to create a textured layer.

To view more details of the Sale-A-Bration promotion, simply click on the large image at the top of my blog! If you are on my mailing list - a copy of the brochure is already on it's way to you via Royal Mail.

Going, Going, Going....

And by Monday teatime will be gone! Not long left but still time to order with me and earn yourself a gorgeous FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set or to grab an absolute steal of a bargain on the Starter Kit!

Right then, back in my craft room after a few days being too busy to get through the door I have created a project following the recipe set by Mandi and Chrissie over at Less is More. This week the girls would like to see us use three squares. please join in and comment on some of the entries as you're sure to find tons of inspiration by doing so. Here's mine:

I'm not overjoyed with the quality of the photo but it keeps clouding over and I had to be quick in the conservatoire as Blake was nodding off in the lounge and the door opening disturbs him!

I've used Early Espresso as my base and it's a larger 7x5" card too. The squares are punched using the 1 1/4" square punch from Pretty in Pink textured card. The butterflies are from the Sale-A-Bration Bliss set (I'm going to miss using this one) stamped in Marina Mist. I've layered them up on dimensionals to add some lift to my design:

I curled the butterflies before sticking them down and added some self adhesive pearls to bring them to life a bit. The sentiment is actually a rub on from the Bday Party pack. It is the same colour as the butterflies but I couldn't photograph it very well.

I popped on another pearl above the 'i' - almost didn't but pleased I did in the end!

I'm a busy lady this weekend as have to prep for something next weekend and also need to make up some business packs for the new members of Team Jelly! Hello to Lynda and Jacqueline, Mary and Linda!

Hope you all have a fab weekend

Sale-A-Bration 3 days left

Oooh time is running out now. There are just three days left to take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration promotion and earn yourself FREE stamps, either by spending £45 or more on products and earning a FREE limited edition set for yourself, or by joining Team Jelly and earning yourself a FREE stamp to the value of £44.95 in addition to the fabby Starter Kit you can get for just £119 for over £250 worth of product. How good is that?

Right then a card.....I haven't had time to craft for the last couple of days as I've been busy meeting new recruits and looking after the boys whilst fighting off a sore throat and cold myself. So this is a card I made a few weeks ago at a home workshop using the Bliss stamp set (one of the freebies!).

I've used a combination of Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink and Early Espresso to make this one and lots of pearls too. Can't get enough of them, always add a pack to my orders!

James is making us a curry now so I'm off to enjoy my meal and then an early night for me to catch up on some rest. James has relocated the x-box etc back downstairs from my craft room so I'm hoping for some quality craft time over the weekend.

My New Monthly Challenge

I've taken the plunge to do a monthly scrapbook challenge! I do monthly classes and thought I could show you what we do and hopefully encourage you to join in too. I'm offering up a monthly prize - I will choose the winner each month and announce with the next challenge.

So here is Jelly Scrapbook Challenge #1 and it's a layout challenge. Here is the layout:

Me and my ladies did these as two 12x12" layouts but you can do any size you like. You can rotate, slightly amend the sketch but I do need to be able to see my original design in your finished project. If you want to challenge yourself further you can choose one or both of the following two optional extras:
  1. Family Theme
  2. Black and White plus one other colour
Please add your finished project by linking below to your NEW post (not your main blog). No back-linking and please link back to this post too to be in with a chance of winning the monthly prize. Could you please also turn off word verification if you have it switched on to save me time when I fly around  blog land to oggle at your creations?

I would love it if you could link to my blog using this button in your post or sidebar too:

You don't have to use Stampin' Up! supplies but I would love to see you using them. Wondering what the prize is for my first challenge?

It's a kit I've put together for you to scrapbook with of course! A pack of yummy 12x12 Playdate papers, a 12x12 pack of matching Playdate Quick Accents and a reel of Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon. Would you like to see my completed pages? Well I'm going to show you anyway!

I've used Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White for my layouts. The patterned paper strip is from the Neutrals Designer Papers Stack, the gorgeous border is created using the Spiral Trim Border Punch and I've also used Tag, square, circle and star punches too.

Here's the left hand page:

I've used the Varsity alpha set to create my title by stamping in Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White card and then cutting out each letter (sigh!). I don't totally black and white out my photos but I do tend to reduce the saturation levels to give me this muted look which I like. The cute cartoon people are from the All In The Family stamp set and the baby bottle is from Nursery Necessities. Here's the other page:

You can see I've used Trendy Trees stamp set and also coordinating coloured Markers for some journalling. These photos were both taken on a family holiday to Center Parcs in 2009 hence the trees and I like to add a little journalling so in years to come when I look back, these are more than just photo memories.

If you would like to buy any Stampin' Up! supplies please contact me by phone, post or email and I'll be more than happy to help.

My scrapbooking style is normally quite clean, like my cardmaking. Like any craft it's all down to personal choice. I can't wait to see what you create. Please join in and spread the word. You have until midnight GMT on 22nd March to take part and you can enter a maximum of three times.

I will add a new tab at the top of my blog to link to the current Jelly Scrapbook Challenge to make it easy to find!

Get Well Gangan

My Father in law is still in the emergency assessment unit at hospital but is starting to show some improvements. The boys aren't allowed to go to visit him as under 12's aren't permitted access to the unit. So we (ahem 'I') made this card for him:

Zac never used to be able to say Grandad so we settled for Gangan and it's stuck! The little fellas are stamped from the All in the Family set and coloured with inks and the aqua brush. The sentiment is stamped in Pacific Point using the Just Perfect alphabet set.

We'll be using All in the Family tonight at my monthly scrap booking class and will share some projects from it with you tomorrow, plus I'll be running a monthly scrap book challenge too with a yummy prize up for grabs so please pop back tomorrow to see how you can join in.

Can'ts top this afternoon as Zac has been feeling unwell today, Hubby has just come home from work early to help out so fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow.

Cake n Ice Cream

It's the start of a new challenge over at Cupcake and even though I stepped down from the DT, I actually set this weeks challenge theme so it would be really rude of me not to join in! the theme is cake or ice cream and I got an old favourite stamp out for this one:

I've used the same technique as the card I posted yesterday. The image is from Crazy For Cupcakes stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake card and then painted with Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie. the sentiment is from the same set and stamped in Melon Mambo.

I rounded off the corners and resisted the urge to add bling or ribbon or indeed have a little doodle! I am going to make loads of cards now using this technique as I love it. I can see myself re-visiting lots of my older stamp sets to try this out with as well as some new as yet uninked stamps too.

It's half term this week so I have both my monkeys running around causing chaos so I need to scoot now and keep an eye on them!

Aqua Brush and Crumb Cake Card

Ooh you know how it is when you have an idea in your head and it doesn't turn out how you'd planned? Well this time it did!!!

I've been thinking of a design using the Growing Green stamp set and finally today went for it! Chrissie and Mandi are on week three of their new challenge blog Less is More and their theme this week is Spring. Now to me, Spring has always arrived once I see pink blossoms on the trees. It's also a special time of year for a dear friend of mine so I've made this card with her in mind.

I've used Crumb Cake card as my base and rounded off the bottom corners with the Corner Rounder Punch. Then I went for it.........I stamped the image using Melon Mambo ink and then using the Aqua Brush and a little water painted the image using Melon Mambo ink and Whisper White ink. If you've not tried this before, just close your ink pads, squeeze the lid to the base and open to find a small amount of ink pressed in to the lid. Use this as your palette and away you go. I've tried this lots of times before but never with the white pigment ink. i'll be trying it again as I love the effect.

Once done I stamped the sentiment from So Happy for You in Melon Mambo ink and added a wavy line using the Melon Mambo Marker, I almost drew a straight line but figured a natural image needed a more natural line!

I had intended to get the instructions up today for my Butterfly Prints class but my Father in Law has been admitted to hospital and to be honest I wasn't in the mood for it. I promise to get them up in the next few days.

Butterfly prints class part two

What a fabby, fabby day. It was Butterfly Prints class day and I had such good fun. It was great to welcome some new ladies to my classes and also to see the return of Lynn!! I haven't had chance to finish the instructions yet as my headache yesterday developed into a full on migraine and I still have the dregs of it today.

Anyway, you didn't pop on here to read about me moan so here are the projects I made in class but in a different colour way. I've used Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi and Regal Rose.

I've used Certainly Celery satin ribbon which is just absolutely lush. It was so nice for me to sit and craft with everyone else and to use a different colour way so that it didn't feel like I was making the same thing all over again! This is my favourite card:

I changed my design slightly after seeing what Shazza did with hers - thanks for the diversity lovely! I also used sparkling rhinestone gems on these instead of the pearls. Yummy! I promise to return tomorrow with the instructions along with the news of the last few spaces in my current ribbon share.

My next class is my scrapbook class on Tuesday evening but is already fully booked. I have a few spaces left in my next classes on Saturday 26th March at 10.30 &1.30. We'll be using the 'For Everything' stamp set, so if you'd like to come along, please contact me to book your place ASAP.

Butterfly Prints Class

Tomorrow I have lots of lovely ladies coming round to join in with my Butterfly Prints class. Here is what we'll all be making:

I can't wait to sit and create with everyone. I'll be posting again tomorrow with the projects the ladies make as I love seeing all different variations on my designs. I'll also be posting the class instructions for download too.

Been a slow day today, I don't suffer with headaches but I've had one all day today. I think due to not enough sleep the last few nights. Fingers crossed it will have gone by the morning as it's making me squint and frown at the moment.

Before, after and a card for Alex

Firstly I have to thank Mary for being hostess at her fabulous party last night! Thanks to all the ladies who came along, it was great to meet you all and to see you all creating, hope to nab some photos off Mary to pop on here soon. mary did well and earnt herself lots of hostess freebies and is now more than tempted to buy herself the Starter Kit and join Team Jelly!

So on to today's card. I seem to be having a bit of a thing for rub ons this week so had another go this morning! It's my nephew's birthday later this month so this is his card:

The image is from All in the Family, although I confess I drew the terrible 'rugby' ball! Alex plays tag rugby and is really good at it. I've used a mix of elements on here, card ribbon and accents from Celebrations Quick Accents pack, Celebrations papers and Bday party rub ons. Teamed up with Real Red and Pacific Point card.

I've even decorated the inside!!

If you read my post yesterday you will know that I took Zac to the hairdressers and promised to share the before and after photos. So, here's before:

And from the back (such yummy curls)

And here he is sat in the hairdressers chair admiring himself in the mirror! He even had some wax put on to style is and loved the attention!

He got up this morning and saw himself in the mirror and said 'Mummy Zac's had his hair cut. Zac looks perfect now'! Hmmm such vanity at three years of age.

Back tomorrow with more and some spaces on a ribbon share too.

Always worth a look

Sometimes looking at the back of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue instead of the front is such a good plan. I missed a good friend's birthday recently and wanted a belated Birthday sentiment and look what I found in the Bday Party rubs ons pack on page 93!

Isn't it the most fabulous sentiment? I used this as my starter point and turned to the Colour Coach to see what would match well with Old Olive and found this combo - Old Olive, Night of Navy and Pretty in Pink. Not my usual at all but I love it.  The sentiment is so neat and perfect all I needed to do was to use the birthday cake rub on from the same pack:

I've used a couple of circle punches along with the Scallop Circle punch to create a feature and layered over a strip of Old Olive DSP, added some Night of Navy Grosgrain ribbon and finsihed off with some more rub ons that look a bit like machine stitching. I made a matching gift box but I can't tell you what's inside in case is hasn't reached it's destination just yet!

Very pleased to find the rub ons work just as well on the patterned paper as they do on plain card. Well it's a very sunny morning here, I'm getting nervous now about taking Zac to get his hair cut this afternoon, he's had so many compliments from other parents about his curls recently, I wonder if I'll bottle it and just get him a trim?
