Jute Christmas tote Bags

Well hello. Hope you're well.
All is good here, a little damage from the storm Barney earlier this week but thankfully no damage to us or the house!

I thought it was about time I shared some new makes with you but first I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported me and sponsored me for Go Sober For October for Macmillan cancer support. I managed to raise just over my original target of £250.
So from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU xxx

Make time - I know Christmas is only 5 weeks away (did I really just admit to that?) and so I have been incredibly busy making the festive stuff. One of my most popular makes are these gorgeous Gingerbread House jute / Hessian tote bags:

Jute_Hessian_Bags_Christmas

Isn't it cute? I could not resist this gorgeous fabric when I saw it and honestly wasn't entirely sure what I was going to create with it either.  I just fell in love with the colours and the cute gingerbread men and sweet houses. Look at the pom-pom trim I've added and the complimentary dotty fabric panel:

Jute_Hessian_Bags_Christmas

Here are the first batch all finished.

Jute_Hessian_Bags_Christmas

They measure approx 12" square (plus handles) and are about 3.5" wide at the sides. I'm selling them for £7.50 plus postage (UK only). So please drop me a message if you'd like to order one.

Off now to catch up with chores before an afternoon visit to Zac's school. The kids are putting on an anti bullying assembly for us grown ups. Can't wait.

Trendy Trees Fabric Pop Up Bins

Do you know one of my favourite stamp sets when I first discovered Stampin' Up! was Trendy Trees (wish I still had it). So imagine my delight when I was asked to make four of my fabric desk tidies with tree fabric. I knew just the right fabric as I've  used it before on other projects and it really reminds me of the stamp set.

Here are the first two - Stampin' Up! fans may recognise the retired ribbon!

Fabric_Pop_up_Bin_Desk_Tidy_Trendy_Trees_1

And the next two - only one change and I fancied using a different colour ribbon.

Fabric_Pop_up_Bin_Desk_Tidy_Trendy_Trees_1

Here they are all together with one folded down with the elastic so you can see how easy they are to store or transport to your craft events.  Mind you I am sure they could have other uses. What would you use one for?

Fabric_Pop_up_Bin_Desk_Tidy_Trendy_Trees_1

These are available to order (UK only) in your choice of fabric theme and colours. Just email me at:
Bluejellystampin@sky.com

or visit my facebook page:

It's the last day of school today before the half term break and both my boys are certainly ready for it, they were both struggling to get up this morning and Blake will be late home as the infant school are having a disco when the day ends. Hopefully that means a little lie in for me in the morning....nah, who am I trying to kid, my boys have no concept of a sleep in. Maybe we'll have a cosy snuggle family day instead, it's been a while since all of us were home for a day together.

Enjoy your weekend.

Christmas Fabric Decorations

Ooh have you seen my new 'Shop' tab above? I'm adding some of the gifts and decorative items I have for sale or to order whilst I'm in the process of building my online shop - all very exciting. I'll be adding more to the page as I get chance so please keep checking.

I wanted to share some Christmas decorations I've been making. I'm going to start with the super cute penguin with candy cane - mainly because he's my favourite!  The reverse of the decoration is shown next to it, beautiful red and polka dot and hanging on a candy cane coloured twine too.

Christmas_2015_Penguin_decoration

Now say 'aaaah'. One for Baby's first Christmas and the little bear has the year on too, a special keepsake. I can even make these with the baby's name on.

babys_First_Christmas_2015_decoration

It wouldn't be Christmas in our house without a reindeer or two and this fella is rocking his jingle!

Christmas_2015_reindeer_decoration

Here they are together. Can you imagine a tree full?

Christmas_2015_decorations

They are just £4.50 each plus postage (to UK only) and can be personalised too. Gift boxes are also available at £1.50 each (holds one decoration).

Sew it Yourself Kits are back

Happy Bank Holiday - is it raining where you are too? Luckily we had planned to all chill out at home today and do our own thing and then a fun meal out this evening.

So many of you are now getting into sewing or wanting some sewing made simple so I'm relaunching my Sew It Yourself Kits with new prices.

I have three available at the moment with many more in the pipeline. The kits are great value as they come in a gorgeous gift bag - so perfect for crafty friends or children and they contain full step by step photo instructions, pre-cut fabrics so no cutting or pinning and stuffing too. All you need to add are a needle and thread (and scissors for thread) or a sewing machine. All the kits are suitable for both hand or machine sewing.

Let's start with the kit my little Blake helped me to design by drawing a picture for me. This is Roarsome the Monsta:

Sew_It_Yourself_Fabric_Kit_Monster

Shown here in Red and Green. He's just £9.50 plus postage. You can sew the pre cut elements where you like on him to change up his look!

Next the Sew it Yourself Owl Kit:

Sew_It_Yourself_Fabric_Kit_Owl

This one is super easy to put together and is available in other colour ranges too. Hootie is just £5.50 plus postage.

And thirdly my Sew it Yourself Christmas Owl Kit:

Sew_It_Yourself_Fabric_Kit_Christmas_Owl

I forgot to pop his Santa hat on when I took this photo so here's a whole load of them made up:

Sew_It_Yourself_Fabric_Kit_Christmas_Owls

These festive fellas are also £5.50 plus postage. Can't wait until my Handmade at Amazon shop opens as these will be available there. For now you can order by emailing me at:

Pop Up Fabric Craft Desk Bins

Blimey it's nearly the end of the school holiday's for me and my boys. I've loved every minute having them home with me but it's time to start the gentle ease of getting myself back into a routine so that it isn't too much of a shock the first day back!

So today I found myself in the room of craft back at my sewing machine. I've been wanting to make these for a while after my first prototype but wanted to get them right so I could say exact sizes and stuff. I'm pleased to say I have mastered it and have now added these cute pop up bins to my product range:

Pop_Up_Fabric_Desk_Bins

I've made three samples here in a choice of fabrics with coordinating insides. They are approximately 7 inches high and wide too. Once the elasticated ribbon is released, the bin 'pops' up! I think they'll make a pretty accompaniment to most desks.

Pop_Up_Fabric_Desk_Bins

I'm taking orders for these now (UK only). You can ask for these fabrics or choose from other fabrics available.

They are just £6.50 plus postage. To order please email me at bluejellystampin@sky.com or you can visit my Facebook page

I've got so many projects to share with you that I've made over the Summer, I hope you'll pop back by for a look.

Adorable Fabric Beach Huts

There is nothing quite like a bright sunny day to put me in the bestest of moods.

Quite literally I saw the sun peeking at me from behind the blackout blind from my bed this morning (there's a slight tear in one corner!) and I jumped out of bed, happy as heck to start my day.

OK that's an outright fib, I would NEVER jump out of bed full of happy. I'm a morning person yes most definitely but I do tend to drag myself out of my box of a morning and require a coffee (usually made by The Spark) to wake me up whilst my eyes adjust to being open. That said, sometimes a small child diving on me demanding breakfast also does the trick - bet you know that feeling if you have kids?

So sunny it is and that means......outdoor photos. Fear not, I mean photos of my creations not photos of my unkempt back garden.

Want to see?

Shabby_Chic_Fabric_beach_Huts_Houses_1

What do you think? Do they make you all smiley and happy too or am I asking too much? I really enjoyed making these, all the different colours and patterns, free machining which I don't think I've done since my textiles course at university - I was even talking to my Mum about that yesterday.

Here's a close up of the three on the right. I added little birds and button door knobs complete with bobble trim along the roof edges.

Shabby_Chic_Fabric_beach_Huts_Houses_1

I id at one point contemplate adding a surf board leaning against the wall but I tried and it looked a bit like a demented banana so I scrapped that idea straight away.

Shabby_Chic_Fabric_beach_Huts_Houses_1

If you like these, they are available to order at £4.50 each plus postage (UK only).

Righto I'm off to sew more happy.

Stampin' Up! Team Gift Jute Bags

Noo - it's the last day of the half term holidays which means I don't just have to get up in the mornings and do my own thing, I have to get up, get me and the boys ready for 7.50am to get to breakfast club.

I was going to spend most of today catching up on some Project Life but instead I find myself sorting more of my fabric scraps - more of that another day however as I can't share mid sort as I'm kind of motivating myself to continue to take 'sorted and organised' photos!

Instead today I'm going to share with you some gifts I made for my old Stampin' Up! down-line Louise to give to her team-mates at a recent Stampin' Up! event - old as in used to be down-line not like 70 years old and old as in I no longer do Stampin' Up! she explained trying not to complicate matters. I'm no longer a Stampin' Up! demonstrator ...Louise most definitely is.

Stampin_Up_Team_Gift_Jute_Bag

I am in love with the pink and white sides of these gorgeous jute bags. Louise ordered them off me and gave me the fonts she wanted me to use and left the design to me. She's either brave or nuts, I'll let you decide.
I knew other than her team name The Stampin' Senoritas the rest was up to me and I wanted to include a UPS van - every Stampin' Up! demonstrators preferred van to an ice cream van as all their parcels are delivered via UPS.

It says on the UPS van: Delivering your Stampin' Up! goodies in brown boxes so you can keep your stash a secret'.

Stampin_Up_Team_Gift_Jute_Bag

I also added rubber stamp block and other various bits n bobs. The photo below is of a piece I didn't use on one of the finished bags because I totally blobbed it (made a mistake) by double imaging a logo over the wording.

Stampin_Up_Team_Gift_Jute_Bag

I wonder if the girls used them to keep their swaps etc from the day in? If you'd like to know more about Stampin' Up! and crafty stash check out Louise's blog Stampin' Delight

I'm off now to cook us a Sunday dinner (just call me Nigella) and then I shall return to the task of sorting out my fabric.

Shabby Chic Fabric Hearts Baby Shower Idea

Cor how is it Saturday already? This week off with my boys has flown by, I love it when they are home with me but I'd be a fibber if I didn't also like it when they go back to school and I can restore calm and normality back to the house during the day.

Thank goodness it's a bright and sunny day today, The Spark is working half day so the Mini Beasts are tidying their playroom and generally loafing about before getting dressed to go bounce on the trampoline and enjoy some fresh air. I have no clue what they'll get up to this afternoon as I'm off out with a friend for a spot of window shopping. to be honest we'll most likely be perusing the charity shops looking for bargains!

Right then, today I'm back to sharing a crafty creation or five. I absolutely love making my fabric hearts and when I was having a clear out of a cupboard a few weeks ago I found some stash I didn't know I had - love it when that happens. So I put these teddy bears to good use:

Shabby_Chic_Fabric_Heart_Bear_Baby_Gift

Aren't they cute? I was thinking they would make perfect new baby or baby shower gifts, especially when the parents are keeping the gender of the baby a surprise!

Shabby_Chic_Fabric_Heart_Bear_Baby_Gift

Have a fabulous weekend, I'm off to do a few more chores to earn my afternoon off, woo-hoo!

Shabby Chic Decorated Hearts

Good morning (eek 11am and still in my PJ's). I came upstairs for a shower about 20 minutes ago and got distracted by something on Pinterest - as you do and I'm still sat here at the PC. So a quickish blog post from me and then I'm off to freshen up and I expect bounce on the new trampoline with the dudes as the sun is shining.

If anyone else is after a bit of a bargain, after lots of research we went along to our local B&M stores and picked up an 8ft one with an enclosure at a bargain price. You can see it HERE

The boys LOVE it.

Would you like to see more of my recent makes and adventures in covering myself in glue? You would? That's good as I'm sharing anyway:

Shabby_Chic_Decorated_Hanging_Heart_Plaque

Another addition to the home decor range. these are lovely chunky, heavyweight hearts available in Smoke or Duck Egg with your choice of wording on. Decorated with twine and hung with really chunky twine.

These are £5 each plus postage (UK only). Why not pop over to my Facebook page to view more of my makes?

Righto - I'm off to play, enjoy your day and please visit again soon.

Pink Owl Jute and Cute Bags

Here we are again lovelies, Monday morning and I have to say the weather ain't all that at the moment. I was pondering having a day chilling out doing pretty much nothing today after a busy weekend, but I sat down and after 10 mins of channel hopping I was already bored, so I'm up in the Room of Craft already making some of the projects I've had ideas in my head about for weeks.

You know what us crafty types are like? Our minds go; what to cook for dinner, need to pick the kids up, must make an owl bag, is it time to pick the kids up yet..........and still no owl bag gets made.

Well last week they did - ha - take that busy head. Today I am working on some other new ideas too but they're not ready for sharing just yet. As I mentioned, busy weekend, trip to Manchester on Saturday to visit my Dad who is recovering really well from his bypass surgery. The Mini beasts were thrilled to see him and my Step Mum and Blake as always enjoyed pressing himself up against their window watching the trains go by. I think one day he'd like to live somewhere overlooking a train station! Then Sunday I had a stall at another craft fair.

Blue_Jelly_Craft_Fair_Stall_booth

I had such a fun day, made more fun as my friend Joanne was on the stall next to me.

These are the Owl bags I made last week:

They were very popular and I only brought one back home with me. I love the bunting and the white polka dots on pink down the side panels too.

Shabby_Chic_Pink_Owl_Jute_bag

I made some small fabric gift bags to match too:

Pink_Fabric_Owl_Gift_Tote_Bag

I've got so many more projects to share with you so I'd love it if you could pop back. If you'd like to buy or order any of these bags or fabric makes, please have a look on my FACEBOOK page where you can order or email me at bluejellystampin@sky.com

Floral Tote Bag with Zip Fastening

Friday already? There aren't enough days in my sewing week!

On my last post I shared with you a craft or general fabric storage caddie I'd made and after posting it on my Facebook page, I was challenged to make a bag using the same fabrics.

So, I couldn't find a pattern exactly suitable anywhere so I read lots and then designed my own. It needed to be big - big enough for me to use to carry my stash and project life stuff around in or to store extra clothes, toys, books and the rest of the house when I'm out and about with the boys as they always seem to be needing something that I couldn't fit in my bag.

Want to see? Ta-da:

Fabric_Tote_Zip_Fastening

Yum colours and pattern I think with cute little birds, butterflies and flowers too. I found straps and ribbon trim to match which gave me a happy moment or two I can tell you! I've named it the Jelly Tote.

Now whilst I like my bags big and this one measures about 16" across the top and 14" high, I also like my bags to zip up as I'm always tipping stuff out or wondering if someone is going to pop their hand inside and help themselves to the contents. I'm such a trusting soul (not). So I popped a recessed zip inside with fabric to match the outside.

Fabric_Tote_Zip_Fastening

The bag is fully lined and also has a lined matching pocket too, along with a sturdy reinforced plastic base to hold the bags shape - and it's contents.

Fabric_Tote_Zip_Fastening

I'm making these to order now at £25 plus postage. Only to the UK. If you'd like to order one, please drop me an email at:

or visit my Facebook page and send me a message.

Craft Caddie and Zipper Pouch

Hope you're having a lovely weekend?
I had a day off and a girlie day on Friday when I visited the NEC Hobby craft and Sewing for Pleasure with my buddy Kay. We had such fun and I was a bit of a fabric magpie!!

I made myself a craft caddie basket type thing last week and asked for some feedback when I posted it on my Facebook page and the overwhelming response was to add them to my product range. So...

Ta-Dah:

Fabric_Storage_Craft_Caddy_Basket

I am so in love with this gorgeous linen look fabric I bought at the show and the pretty coordinating spot fabric on the inside too. The caddie is a handy size measuring approx 12.5" square and it does fold almost flat for storage. Personally I'd keep craft stash in it, but you could pop toys in, knitting supplies, nappies, towels, whatever floats your boat!

I also made a matching zip pouch which is lined in the same pretty spot fabric inside.

Fabric_Storage_Craft_Caddy_Basket

Here is my slightly larger one in old fashioned sweetie jar fabric - I use mine for keeping my stuffing in ready for all those fabric hearts!

Fabric_Storage_Craft_Caddy_Basket

If you'd like to order one you can pop by my Facebook Page to order or email me at:

bluejellystampin@sky.com

The 9.5" square caddie is £15 plus postage and the zip pouch is £5 plus postage - UK only I'm afraid.

Righto, off to spend the rest of the afternoon with my boys, no doubt I'll get thrashed at some X-box game I have no comprehension of!

Fabric Hearts - The Girlie Collection

Hello.
I'm trying to concentrate on sewing and blogging and crafting, you know as well as juggling housework, the kids etc and do you know what? The Spark is off work poorly, we're on day 3 now and I feel I should be spending less time doing my stuff and more time being Nurse Jelly!!! He's not often under the weather and I'm hoping he gets better really quickly, also kinda hope he doesn't share his germs with me as I'm off the the Hobbycraft show at the NEC on Friday and I want to be fighting fit ha ha!

I've been busy in the Room of Craft and have created a new range of fabric hearts, I'm calling these The Girlie Collection because quite frankly, that's what they are. Do you want to see?

Ta-da:

Fabric_Hearts_Shabby_Chic_Girlie

I do like a bit of girlie stuff about the place, mainly to distract me from all the BOY stuff about the place! One day I will insist we have pink towels in the bathroom. Well a girl can dream eh?

Here's one for all you Shoe Queens:

Fabric_Hearts_Shabby_Chic_Girlie

Or cake fans (Nom, nom):

Fabric_Hearts_Shabby_Chic_Girlie

One for a friend who loves shoes as much as you:

Fabric_Hearts_Shabby_Chic_Girlie

Fabric_Hearts_Shabby_Chic_Girlie

Shabby Chic Easter Bunny Gift Bags

How is it Saturday afternoon already? I still have so much to do today. I finished up some orders this morning and at the moment I'm 'mid' making new zip up covers for my Mum in Laws sofa cushions and scatter cushions as a present for Mother's Day from The Spark. Hmm!

The fabric is a bit gorgeous, it's a Sanderson design to match her wallpaper, was she mad to entrust me to the task? We shall see soon.

Moving on swiftly back to my comfort zone and all that. It might be Mother's Day here in the UK tomorrow but you'll only need to blink and then it will be Easter (or egg day as my boys call it).

So here are some vintage style Easter Bunny Gift Bags I made:

Shabby_Chic_Fabric_Easter_Gift_Bags

These would be lovely packed full of goodies and treats. They measure 8" across and 9" in height and fasten with the drawstring.

Shabby_Chic_Fabric_Easter_Gift_Bags

I added some lace trim (Victoria by Stampin' Up!) around the top edge.

Shabby_Chic_Fabric_Easter_Gift_Bags

And added matching gift tags too.

Shabby_Chic_Fabric_Easter_Gift_Bags

They cost £4.50 each plus postage (UK only) and you can order yours in plenty of time for Easter by emailing me at:

bluejellystampin@sky.com

Why not stop by my Facebook page for a nose around too?

Right then. I'm off back to cushion chaos - may share at a later date depending on how they turn out. Would you believe I have NEVER sewn a zip in my entire life?

Hugs
