Introducing Nurse......

Owl! I have been wanting to get my crafting mitts on the fabulous owl punch since we first knew it was coming our way in January, but sometimes even I have to wait and now my wait is over! So, my first owl creation is a get well card:

Isn't she a cutie? I've used the owl punch for everything with the exception of the red cross, for that I used one of the Itty Bitty Shapes punches. The hugs and kisses sentiment is from Basic Phrases. Here's the card again with the owl punch:

If you want the owl punch it's item number 118074, £15.50, just get in touch by phoning 07748 707845 or emailing me at bluejellystampin@sky.com to place your order.

Alternatively why not wait until Saturday 25th June when I'll be running a fun owl punch art class for £12 at 10.30am and again at 1.30pm. If you order your owl punch at the time of booking your class place, you can get the owl punch for just £14. This class will book up fast so don't hang about reserving your place.

Red Noses for Comic Relief

Today in the UK is Red Nose day for Comic Relief, unfortunately me and my little boys are poorly with sore throats and bad coughs so Zac has been off school. Yesterday he should have dressed up at school and donated some money to Comic Relief for doing so. He missed out on a day of fun bless him. I had made some cards for him to give out to a few of his freinds and teachers, he still can, just on Monday instead!

This features Poppy Parade, one of the lush In Colours. The spotty paper is from the Level One Hostess Gift - In Colour Paper Stack. I stamped my monsters in Basic Black using stamps from the fabulous Make a Monster set, so fitting for today as monsters are the theme for this year's red noses! The noses are actually a stamp from Something Sweet, stamped in Poppy Parade and then coated in Crystal Effects to give the lovely shiny look to them.

I've used a sentiment from Basic Phrases, I don't know what I'd do if Stampin' Up! ever decide to retire this set as I love it and all but one of the sentiments fit perfectly in to the Word Window Punch.

So as I said, my little man missed out on his school day of fun, but he still got to wear his costume at home. He dressed up as his favourite character 'Captain Rex' from Star Wars the Clone Wars. So here is my very own little clone warrier:

I imagine I'll be taking a clone warrier to the supermarket, the park, for walks etc as he loves his costume. He even has to take the helmet and 'pow' to bed with him so he can keep an eye on them!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend

Less is More

Another fabulous challenge this week by Chrissie and Mandi over at Less is More. This weeks genius theme is 'off the page'. I had this idea in my head straight away, so still in my PJs I dashed upstairs to make it!

I've used the level two hostess set Longfellows and stamped in Basic Black ink on to white shimmer card. I masked off half the image and the sentiment each time. Whilst the ink was still slightly wet I dragged in the ink with a blender pen and added a little Melon Mambo for colour to match my sentiment which is from Basic Phrases.

The plan here is it's supposed to look like the cat is meeting himself coming round the back of the card!

I must check out the link the ladies have added on to their challenge blog o how to take good photos as I struggle terribly with white cards. Good thing about this challenge - lots of tips and advice to help you on your way! Hope you can join in too.

Jumbled Up

I had absolutely the best day at Stampin' Up! regional training at Leeds yesterday, what a scream! I met some amazing people and received some beautiful swaps, even though I didn't have many swaps myself - so thanks to everyone who was kind enough to give me one of theirs, some real works of art in there.

Today I have a to do list as long as my arm to try and get through so I'm quickly going to share the card I made this morning for my MIL to give to my FIL on Tuesday:

It's a big card as my MIL prefers them to my usual smallish square ones! I've used Jumble Alpha stamps for the main sentiment and Basic Phrases for the smaller words. Papers and adhesive strips are out of the Good Times Simply Scrappin Kit and the cupcake is from Big Bold Birthday set. Bit of a mix eh?

Fingers crossed I get through all my jobs before dinner time!

A treat for me and a fab day too

I have had the most lovely afternoon with some fab ladies. We had our first get together of Team Jelly and we crafted, we chatted and we laughed. What an inspiring bunch of ladies you are - thanks for a really brilliant afternoon. If you fancy joining Team Jelly and getting yourself the Starter Kit for just £119 plus a FREE stamp set from the catalogue, please get in touch.

Right, on to todays project which I have to confess I'm keeping! When it comes to Valentines, Hubby doesn't really buy me anything pink and I lurve pink. I also love chocolate (which I didn't used to like) so this is for me - and I ain't sharing!

I've made a card and matching treat tub. I've gone for all my favourites colours together, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette - yum! The hearts are all from I Heart Hearts and the sentiment is from Basic Phrases. Here's the card:

I've made a banner using the small love heart stamp and the co-ordinating small heart punch, I admit to using scissors again for the large heart! A bit of Brights Designer Series Paper and some bling and I'm happy! The ribbon has been ruffled by pulling one thread of the ribbon to pucker it up and then securing it around the back.

The tub is actually an empty buttons tub (always save these things!). I've wrapped the thin Real Red Grosgrain ribbon around the rim - fits perfectly and then cut circles for the base and the lid, punching the other layers and the filling with giant chocolate buttons (sorry Zac I robbed them out of your stash!)

I'm joining in with:
Off for what I hope is a relaxing evening now after being up most of last night with Blake.

Feeling the lurve

I said I'd be back today to get you loved up and I wasn't kidding! I thought I'd should show you some valentines themed projects now so that you don't forget to order your supplies in time!

I really enjoyed making these, even though it was a bit tough resisting eating those jelly bellies! OK, first up is a Crumb Cake card decorated with patterned paper from the In Colour Designer Series level one hostess pack, isn't the large spot pattern gorgeous? I've used the large Heart Punch and Heart Treat Cup to make a sweetie gift card. I think this might be for hubby as ahem a little confession.......he was given a huge tub of jelly bellies for Christmas and I may have picked all the pink, red and white ones out!

Here's a close up of the fabulous heart treat cup filled with yummy goodness! Such a baragin at just £2.95 for a pack of 12.

Then a card made using the Sweetheart stamp set which co-ordinates with the Heart Punch and Treat Cups too!

I like to make use of my leftovers so I mounted the punched out heart from the card before on to some dimensionals for a bit of depth. The OXOX stamp is from Basic Phrases. Finally a treat pouch:

This time I've used a 6" square of paper from the Subtles DSP paper pack (12x12) and the heart is stamped from the I Heart Hearts set. I've cut this heart out by hand and stuck it on the pouch with dimensionals. The bag inside is a small treat bag tied off with a bit of Pretty in Pink Grosgrain ribbon.

Now I must thank Anne for the fabby award she has given me:

I need to tell you three things that make me different and then nominate another five bloggers to receive the award so......five things that make me different:

  1. I absolutely have to sleep with my feet out of the bed even in winter. Hotels annoy me with their tightly tucked in sheets and I have a battle to free myself a gap to poke my feet out of!
  2. I can't wear natural wool clothes - they make me itch and scratch like a monkey. Actually I can't stand the smell of wet wool either!
  3. I adore bright pink and bribed hubby into letting me have a few items in said colour in our white kitchen. I'm still bribing him to this day and am slowly turning my kitchen pink!
I'll pass this award on to:
  1. Tracy
  2. Louise
  3. Susie
  4. Donna
  5. Fluff
Off to put my feet up for a bit now, it's been a hectic day in the house of Jelly.
