It's Our Anniversary

Nine years ago today The Spark and I had just got married! We've been together for 17 years now but our wedding anniversary still feels quite new. Here's the card I've made for The Spark.

Stampin_up

I've used Crumb Cake card for the base and embossed an outline using the Simply Scored Tool. The cute bike is our of the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini and it's the hostess set Pedal Presents, if you've not got it, quick - email me your £150 order and it can be yours for free along with the FREE stamp set Reason to Smile too. But you've only got today and tomorrow to get your order in and then they're both gone.

I did some paper piecing on the balloons and coloured the hearts in with Markers.

Sharing a photo from our magical day:

We're having a quiet night in tonight as now Major Mayhem has caught whatever tummy bug Commander Chaos had so can't really leave him whilst we go out enjoying ourselves. Another night then.

Stampin' Up! Reason to Smile with Buttons

Yes - Commander Chaos seems to be better now and fingers crossed Major Mayhem doesn't seem to have caught it so we're going to venture out this afternoon to do a few bits n bobs. Did you know there are only FOUR days left to take advantage of this months offer from Stampin' Up!

You can get this gorgeous stamp set Reason to Smile for FREE when you place your order of £60 or more on Stampin' Up! products - but hurry time is running out fast. I've made a set of bright cards using two of the stamps in the set today:

Stampin_Up

I've got a folder on my work bench with half sheets of A4 card from previously made projects so I grabbed a handful and made these. So easy to make too. All you need to do is randomly stamp the two flowers down one sde of your card with Versamark ink and then cover with White Embossing Powder. Heat set with the Heat Tool and then using the same colour Marker as your card base, draw around the flowers.

Stampin_Up

Then colour in the smaller flowers and shade the middle circle of petals on the larger flower.

Stampin_Up

My colours are Tempting Turquoise. So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Regal Rose and Melon Mambo. To finish I stamped a sentiment using the Markers again and popped a button one of the flowers with a Mini Glue Dot.

Stampin_Up

Have a go - it's so simple and so effective too.

Stampin' Up! Attic Boutique Cupcakes

Hope you're having a fab crafty Bank Holiday? The Spark is working today so I'm less crafting, more Lego Star Wars and Thomas track....a girl can dream of a whole day in the room of craft though. So after plugging Major Mayhem into the X-box to play said Lego Star Wars and then building a train track from the lounge, through the kitchen and into the hallway for for Commander Chaos, Jelly escaped for 15 minutes and made these:

Stampin_Up

I've mixed the gorgeous Attic Boutique Designer Papers with the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set. I can't remember the last time this set saw ink so it's been great fun to use it again. My card and tag bases are Soft Suede mixed with Very Vanilla, and Blushing Bride. The cupcakes have been coloured with coordinating Markers or paper pieced - which simply means stamping the image on patterned paper and cutting it out.

I've been making use of the lovely Blushing Bride Stitched-Poly ribbon as it's due to retire next month.

Stampin_Up

Who knows if this stamp set will retire next month too? Maybe you need to order it from me just in case!!

Righto, I'd better get back to the mini beasts and then cross my fingers the Spark doesn't have to work all day so I can smuggle in some more crafting.

Stampin' Up! Silver Anniversary

On Wednesday this week my down line Tracy and her Hubby celebrated their silver wedding anniversary!! How cool is that? This is the card I made for them:

Stampin_Up

It's an A5 card in Basic Gray, Whisper White and Brushed Silver. The patterned paper is Domestic Goddess Designer Series Papers (maybe one the reasons their marriage has stood the test of time?). My married couple have been stamped using All in the Family stamp set and the top hat and veil drawn by hand using the Black Marker.

I've coloured the image with Markers (and accidentally smudged some ink - doh!) and then used the Two Way Glue Pen and smothered with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Stampin_Up

The glittered heart is courtesy of the Owl Builder Punch and the sentiment is from Delightful Dozen.

I can't hang around today as Commander Chaos is erupting from both ends with some sort of bug and so I am on clean up, wash and disinfect duties as well as get well cuddles.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Shop Bunting Card

Just have to start today's post by saying we took Commander Chaos for round two of his hearing assessment this morning and he passed with flying colours - yey! No more worrying.

It's only another 8 days before the products in the Stampin' Up! Summer mini retire so I'm making the most of using them. My project to day is a no stamping card. At the Donnington Show last weekend so many people said they couldn't stamp or don't want to stamp and it was fab to be able to show so many samples on our display without stamping. Just shows how versatile our products are. The main focus on this card are the ice creams from the Sweet Shop Designer Papers. Are you loving the Sweet Shop Brads as much as me?

Stampin_Up

Here's the full card. A complete change for me to make a landscape DL card. I've used Soft Suede for the base with scraps left over from the patterned papers. I have made so many projects with just two packets of this paper and I am going to have to order some more on Saturday because I don't want to be without them when they retire! I've used the Pennant Builder punch to create my bunting, making sure I got an ice cream on each one. The scalloped bunting, also punched with the Pennant Builder used Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party Card. I've pierced holes in the corners and threaded some linen thread through and tied to the brads.

Stampin_Up

Here are the supplies I used - this photo shows the cupcake brads in the same set.

If you'd like to place an order from the Summer Mini before the end of the month when it ends, or indeed from the main catalogue, please just email me at bluejellystampin@sky.com

Stampin' Up! Crafting doesn't have to be complicated

Morning everyone. I think there's a strong chance I have jinxed the weather in Nottingham by hanging all our towels out to dry - I've got one eye on the window and the other on the Mini Beasts!

Today I have three cards to share with you to show you that crafting with Stampin' Up! products really doesn't have to be complicated. Hope you like them:

Stampin_Up

I've used Sahara Sand, River Rock and Always Artichoke for my card bases and popped them all through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder just on the lower edge of the card fronts. Next a simple strip of Pleated Satin Ribbon in Blushing Bride.

Stampin_Up

Isn't the ribbon gorgeous? If you want to order some you'll need to be quick as it's in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini and there are only EIGHT days left to order from it. The Always Artichoke card is my favourite, Which is yours?

Stampin_Up

I used Markers to ink up my stamps to make sure each element was a different colour. So easy to do too.

Have you visited my Face Book page yet? I update it more than my blog and you can see it by clicking HERE. If you like what you see, please like my page!

Stampin' Up! Attic Boutique Gift Purses

Oh where oh where has my mojo gone? Cor I sat in the room of craft for ages twiddling me thumbs today deciding what to create. I reckon it's crafters block after spending all weekend with crafters!

Eventually I decided on some cute gift bags:

Stampin_Up

They are made using an 8 1/2" x 12" piece of Attic Boutique Designer Series Papers and created on the Simply Scored Board. Had fun making these. Here they are in full:

I've also used my punch of the moment - the Blossom Punch to create some slightly 3-D flowers.

Oh and I must share a few photos of our stand at the Craft Festival at Donnington Park at the weekend. Here are Helen, Nic and myself ready to go on Sunday morning.

Stampin_Up

Below is Helen at her first ever show. She's only been a demo for 2 months and the first things he did was to book this show - way to go Helen!

Stampin_Up

Finally a close us of part of our stand shortly before we were ready to go on Saturday morning.

Stampin_Up

Thank you to absolutely everyone who stopped by our stand, chatted, entered our prize draw, ordered Stampin' Up! products and bought catalogues from us. Biggest congratulations to Cortina Hayes in Bristol who was the lucky winner of our basket of goodies,

Back soon.

Stampin' Up! Santa Chest

Ooh warm but very wet today. I think the summer holiday may be turning me into the type of person that absolutely has to comment on the weather, not sure how or why that is happening. Anyhoo, today I have for you a Christmas project, I know to some of you it's waaay too early to think about such things but to the incredibly organised and prepared of you - go ahead and float your boats!

Stampin_Up

It's the Santa version of my chest / survival kit. I promise the tutorial will be available soon. I've made this one in Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Basic Black and Daffodil Delight. If you lurve Poppy Parade as much as I do it would be a good idea to stock up on it now as it is retiring in September and stocks I think will run out pretty quickly. I'll be gutted to see it go as it's such a warm and bright red.

Here is the inside.

Stampin_Up

A view with the lift out tray - lifted out!

Stampin_Up

Hope you likey. I've got a task on my hands now - it's a job I've only just discovered I need to do and it certainly wasn't on my list of must do things for the day. But being as Commander Chaos has taken great delight in climbing up to get some toothpaste and spent a good 10 minutes whilst Mummy wasn't looking, happily squeezing and smearing the contents around his bedroom - I now need to go and clean. At least everywhere will smell minty fresh.

Stampin' Up! Every Little Bit tags

Good morning, busy day so far, the boys and I have already been out and down to the local Post Office to send out kits that had been ordered and catalogues too. If you read yesterday's post re potty training you'll be pleased to know that after potty related success, I was too scared to risk a puddle in the Post Office and secured Commander Chaos with a nappy!

I wanted to add a thank you card in with my orders and catalogues and made these thank you tags using the Big Shot Two Tags Die:

Stampin Up

My photo is a bit ropey this morning but I wasn't hanging about in the conservatoire as I was practically getting a too close for comfort cuddle from a ma-hoosive waspie. I did manage a close up before I legged it back to safety.

Stampin_Up

So the tags are Crumb Cake and the spotty paper is the last scraps of the lush Wisteria Wonder pages from the Sweet Shop collection. I must order myself some more before it retires at the end of this month. The sentiment is from Thank You Kindly and the cute little purse is from Every Little Bit. I coloured the purse with Markers in Pool Party, Pretty in Pink and Wisteria Wonder to match the punched card shapes. For these I've used the 1 3/4" Scalloped Circle and the 1 3/4" and 1 1/4" circle punches.

Finished off with a little flower and a silver brad through the hole at the top. The flower is a punch from a set of three - Itty Bitty Punches.

Lunch prep next and then being as the sun has decided to take a day off, I think a supermarket trip might be our exciting entertainment for the afternoon. Not!

Stampin' Up! FREE stamps

Sorry to have been AWOL for a few days - I've been recovering after the Spark's birthday weekend. It's official - Jelly is too old to party and spent all day Monday on the sofa recovering!

So I have been having another play with Reason to Smile - the stamp set you can get for FREE this month when you spend £60 or more with me on Stampin' Up! products. Here is the card I've made.

Stampin Up

It's a Crumb Cake base with a sentiment from Heard from the Heart in Soft Suede. To create my frame I've used one of the Designer Frames Embossing folders and embossed both Crumb Cake and Pool Party Card. I cut them both out, making sure the Crumb Cake one was trimmed to fit inside the Pool Party frame. Next I stamped the flower, with the plain base in Pool Party and the more detailed of the two step stamp in Melon Mambo - with a touch of colouring using a Blender Pen. Then I got out my trusty Paper Snips and carefully cut it out.

Stampin Up

You can just about see on the photo above the gentle Pool Party twist running through the Bakers Twine. The designer paper strip is from the Sweet Shop product suite.

Now I must dash as Commander Chaos is on day two of his potty training and leaving him for more than five minutes could result in yet more wet pants and disinfecting for Jelly to do!

Stampin' Up! Guest Designer

Good morning, it's not so sunny today so I have planed lots of games to play with the Mini Beasts. We're going to start with a tray full of things that are blue and work out which items go missing and the sounds the objects start with. So as my day is all about my boys, I've a project ready to share with you.

I've been lucky enough to be invited to be a Guest Designer this week at Simply Stampin' Challenge and the theme this week is Let's Hear it For the Boys. Here's my card:

Stampin' Up!

It's a 7"x5" card and one I made from the Mini Beasts  to give to the Spark yesterday for his Birthday. My colour combo is Concord Crush, Old Olive and Bashful Blue. I stamped the family using All in the Family with the help of my Stamp-ma-jig in Basic Black ink. To make sure I cut my circle out in the right place I used this handy trick:

Stampin Up

Use a bit of tape to hold a piece of card in place over your die (Big Shot Circles #2) and run through the Big Shot. Slide your image underneath the cut card to position where you want it (great for photos) and pop through the machine again and ......

Stampin Up

Perfect! I did a spot of paper piecing using the yummy Cheerful Treat Designer Papers. These are exclusive to party hostesses or to you if you place an order of £150 with me. I've used the same papers to decorate my card and finished with a strip of Concord Crush Ribbon.

Going to leave you with a photo of the Spark with Major Mayhem and Commander Chaos taken last night when we went out to celebrate his Birthday:

Please hop over to Simply Stampin' to see what the girls have created and have a go and join in too.
