Sweet Summer in a box

A lovely friend asked me to make a 90th Birthday card for her Gran but decided against sticking the 90 on it so I made something a bit extra for her:

I've used two Sale-A-Bration sets here, Sweet Summer and So Happy For You. Teamed up with Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie, although the colours have come out a bit dull on here. I used the Whisper White Organza ribbon and coloured it with Melon Mambo ink pad, the flowers are coloured using the blender pen. Here's the inside:

I stamped the sentiment using the Just Perfect Alphabet and added some more flowers from the Sweet Summer set. The patterned papers are from the Brights Designer Series Stack. Here's the full card:

I made a box to go with it too:

Wow Friday tomorrow already, this week has just flown by. Don't forget this Sunday I have my paper craft and Stampin' Up! event. More details tomorrow.

A card and a fridge magnet

Cor it's a bit frosty today, I've had to leave the heating on or we'll go numb, brrrrrr! Well today I have another set to show you, a card and matching acrylic fridge magnet.

I've used Early Espresso and Pink Pirouette card along with some accent stickers from Nursery Suite Quick Accents. At first glance it's a predominantly baby themed kit but I've got so many more uses for it!
Here's the card:

The background has been created by repeat stamping the eat cake image from the hostess level two set Cute By The Inch. Then a simple punched band of Early Espresso Card, a sentiment from the Sale-A-Bration set Happy Moments and some stickers from the Accents pack. I coloured the icing on the cake with a Marker and added a pearl for the cherry!

The fridge magnet is made in the same way. It's one of those acrylic ones with the magnet on the back, you create your design and then click the front cover on. It's about 2.5 inches square. I have a box full of these and intend to start using them now, I think I've had them over a year.

I stamped the background in the same way as the card but on to a scrap of spotty paper from the Subtles Paper Pack. I thought the small spots on the image would go nicely with it.

I'm going to join in with:
After his first dairy free day, Blake seems a lot calmer today. He slept a little better and has been a lot less agitated so far this morning. Here's hoping it continues! Right I'm off to do some prep for my home workshop tomorrow morning, can't wait to see everyone.

Dum, dum, de dum...

This week our theme over at Cupcake is 'Weddings', chosen by the lovely Lisa who has just opened her new wedding stationery business!

I wanted to make something different to my usual stuff that I make for wedding invitations so made this wedding card and confetti or favour cake box:

The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set So Happy for You which you can get for FREE when you spend £45 or more on products with me in January and February. The gorgeous patterned paper is from Elegant Soiree, isn't it lush? The colours are Soft Suede, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla.

Here's the card:

Instead of ribbon I used the Scallop Trim border punch and finished it off with some self adhesive pearls. The cake style box was so easy to make - watch this space later this week for a full cake!

The patterned paper is from the same pack and the flower made using the Boho Blossoms punch. The 'cream filling' is torn Very Vanilla card.

I still have a few spaces left in my all day class in Somercotes on Saturday 29th January, but please contact me ASAP as booking closes tomorrow.

New Baby

No not me - I've got plenty already thanks! Our theme over at Cupcake Challenge this week is 'something new'. It could be a new home, new job or you using some new stash you got for Christmas. Here's mine:

I've been playing with the Sale-A-Bration set Punch Bunch again for this cute little carousel image. I've made a card and matching gable gift box.

I've used the small and large tag punches and cut out a smaller tag for the centre of the card and ahem - lazy crafters note .....I have been using scissors again! Yep, I decided it would be a nice idea to cut out the small bit of the image and layer it up. Why, why, why will I never learn that scissors were invented for people with patience! The sentiment by the way is from the So Happy For You set.

I had to use loads of the pearls on this project, I love the strings already stuck together and the tiny ones were perfect for the stamped image.

Here's the gift box:

Hope you can join in the fun over at Cupcake. Please pop back tomorrow as I promise it's going to be lurved up here at Jelly HQ and lots of pink and red on offer!

What's in the box?

As it's the start of a new year, and a year which will see me turn 40, I've started my diet already in a mission to shed a few pounds by the time the big day arrives! So what does my hubby do? Leaves a massive slab of chocolate fudge cake out on the worktop in the kitchen this morning. Funny - not! I have been soooo good and popped it in the fridge for him to eat when he comes home.

So on the subject of cake and chocolate and all things yummy, I made this project:

The card measures 5 inches square to give you an idea of size and I've used a selection of punches, card and the Sale-A-Bration So Happy For You stamp set. When I first looked at this set I wondered how I could make a card using just this set but I've done it and made lots more too! Here's the card:

I do like to keep things simple so I've stamped the heart image and the 'So happy for you' sentiment on to Whisper White card and patterned pink paper from the Subtles Designer Paper Stack. These have been punched out with various circle punches and layered up with the two square punches. I've used a mix of Crumb Cake (there we go with cake references again!), Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette and Rose Red card. I punched out just part of the sentiment, rather than using it all as I want this to be a birthday themed card. I can't tell you who it's for as I don't want to spoil the surprise!

And here's the cute gift box I made to go with the card. I've used all the same colours and stamps, just added the use of the scallop circle and scallop border punches.

Want to know what's in the box?

This is an idea I totally cased from Pam Morgan at the Stampin' Up! European Convention in November. She showed us how to make battery operated tea lights into the cutest little cakes using stickers from the Nursery Suite Accessories kit.

Here's everything together:

I'm going to join in a few challenges with these:
Hope you likey

Cupcake candy and challenge

It's a new year and a new start at Cupcake Craft Challenge and we've introduced a new monthly bonus prize to our blog called 'Icing on the cake'. All you have to do is enter our weekly challenges more than once a month to be in with a chance to win. This month's sponsor is.......me! And here's what you could win:

A selection of Stampin' Up! 12x12 papers, some gorgeous self adhesive rhinestones and a Stampin' Techniques booklet. Remember to link your entries to the Cupcake Challenge blog!

We also have our weekly challenge and our theme this week has been chosen by Catherine la Chic and is 'White is White'. You can use other colours if you like but your project must be mainly white. Here is mine:

I've added a hint of Melon Mambo as it's one of my current fav colours to play with. My card features the Sale-A-Bration set Sweet Summer and I've stamped a few images using Basic Black ink and added a sentiment from another Sale-A-Bration set So Happy For You. I've coloured the butterfly with a Melon Mambo Marker and then decorated the card with Basic Pearls to add a bit of dimension.

Aren't the pearls just scrummy? I can't get enough of them. Righto, I hope you will pop back tomorrow as I have some very exciting news to share with you!! Can't stop today as hubby goes back to work tomorrow so I'm off to make the most of my crafting time whilst he gets to build robots with the bubbas and race Bob the Builder trucks up and down the living room. I may have to pop downstairs to watch Finding Nemo with them in a bit though!
