Boy does Stampin

I've had a fabulous day today. This morning I dropped Zac off at pre-school and Blake went to his Grandparents leaving me home alone for a whole two hours! I decided to have a rest and just popped my feet up and watched some telly off the planner!

Of course it didn't last as I went to pick Zac up and after lunch we had some quality crafting time together. First here are my creations....

I haven't used Trendy Trees stamp set in ages and I love it so much. Here it is using Early Espresso, Regal Rose and Wild Wasabi. This isn't one of the suggested combos on the Colour Coach so I'm certainly going to pop it on one of the blank rows as one of my new favourites! Here are the cards individually:

The patterned paper I've used are the coordinating ones from the Designer Series Paper Stacks - Neutrals, Brights and Subtles.

I should show you how much fun Zac had when I let him loose with my stamps, inks and punches!

He sat there for over an hour happily stamping away but now he's had enough and is sat watching Scooby Doo! I'm off to join him now and enjoy a cuddle and admire his hair as I'm taking him for a haircut tomorrow afternoon -eeeek!

More rub ons

I enjoyed what I created yesterday using the Hidden Garden Blossoms rub ons so had another go today.

This is a little bit more detailed than yesterday but again an unusual colour combo for me. I found this combo on the Colour Coach and decided to give it a go!

It's Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke and Tangerine Tango! Nice colour mix but wouldn't fancy cooking with it! I've made pretty much the same card as yesterday except I've added a layer and used a different sentiment:

And the matching box is stuffed full of crafting goodies, ribbons etc, nice sized box it is:

Well it's Valentine's Day and the kids will be off to bed soon and me and Hubby can sit down and have a nice meal together (kind of hoping he's doing the cooking!).

Hidden Garden Bodge Up

After a craft free day yesterday I was itching to create this morning. My friends Chrissie and Mandi launched their new challenge blog last week 'Less is More' and their first week was a huge success. Let's keep the momentum going and join in with their second challenge which is a one layer card featured flowers or trees. Here's mine:

Now I've strayed out of my comfort zone for a change and used Always Artichoke card as my base and a rub on as the feature! The gorgeous flower is from the rub on set Hidden Garden Blossoms. I was going to create a border around the image but decided I've seen this alreday on lots of other cards and wanted to do something else. So I chose my sentiment from the Sale-A-Bration FREE stamp set So Happy For You. It's easy to think of this particluar sentiment as one to use on a sympathy card, but sometimes a friend just needs to know you are there, perfect I think. I stamped it using Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder before drawing my line with the white gel pen. Again I had to stop myself drawing the white border all the way around the card!

I  wanted to use the smaller matching rub on to make a gift tag to match and here is whefre my total bodge job happened! Erm, I'd just finished the heat embossing when I dropped the card and smudged the sentiment. Humph:

Decided it wasn't good enough and used another image to create the gift card instead:

Now do I get points out of ten for resisting to use any ribbon, pearls or gems on this? Have a fun Sunday whatever you're doing. I'm off for a soak in the bath and then an afternoon of crafting awaits me whilst hubby and the boys have an afternoon to themselves.

Family day

Firstly I have to thank last  nights workshop hostess Kathy for a fab evening - I really enjoyed myself and it was great to introduce your friends to Stampin' Up! I'm looking forward to the next party now!

Last week I showed you one of the cards I made for my friend Teresa but forgot to show you the second one, lucky as I haven't made anything today! So here is the other card made using the Sweet Summer Sale-A-Bration set and again using melon Mambo, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie:

I did some simple layering and stamping and very roughly coloured the flowers using the blender pen and inks:

I've had a whole day away from crafting today (I know!) and enjoyed a very family day.We were expecting heavy rain so when we saw the sun we got up and dressed (eventually after a HUGE brekkie) and ventured out to Rufford Country Park. Sadly the fabulous play area was closed but we enjoyed walking around the grounds and woods for an hour or two, it totally wore Zac out and after a lunch in the cafe there he slept all the way home! Here are a few pics (none of Blake as he has a streaming cold and is way too snotty to photograph!).

Zac and Daddy enjoying the fresh air:

Zac posing on the bridge:

Giving Daddy a kiss whilst he sat on the wall waitin for cars to drive through the fjord:

A proper good splashing!!!

Right - back to my family day, but don't worry I have tons of crafting time tomorrow!

Never too early to get cracking

I've been making lots of Valentine's things recently so I thought I'd get ahead and have a go at my first Easter project of the year. I've used A Good Egg stamp set:

I always start making my seasonal projects early to ensure I get the products well in time to plan my designs. I've used up some let overs from the Nursery Suite class I ran last month.

The card is So Saffron and Early Expresso and I've used some of the Brights DSP stack to stamp and cut out the egg shell. The flower is a brad with a pearl stuck in the centre.

I've filled a medium treat bag with mini chcolate eggs and repeated the design from the card on the topper. I love this sentiment, much more fun than just saying 'Happy Easter'. There are loads of Easter chocolates etc in the shops now so no doubt you'll be seeing more from me with this theme and of course some Mothers' Day projects too - can't forget those!

I've going to Kathy's this evening for her Stampin' Up! workshop. I can't wait, I have some yummy projects to show and a great make and take for all the lovely guests to make too. Means Hubby has to put the boys to bed by himself - ha, ha!

Gift for Mum in Law

Ever since I saw this on Angela's blog I've wanted to have a go at one myself! I had the perfect excuse as I needed to make a thank you gift for my Mum in Law as she's given me so much help recently. I haven't given it to her yet but I know she doesn't read my blog!!

It's such a dull and dismal day today that the photo hasn't come out very clearly. I may try again tomorrow! I'm not a fan of green but I did really enjoy making this. It was a great way to use up scraps and to combine elements that I wouldn't ordinarily get the chance to.

My in laws have recently decorated their kitchen with olive green so I'm hoping these are the right shades to match. I tried to personalise it to their tastes, my father in law is a massive fan of wild birds and owls and my mum in law is into her gardening and has a thing for cocktails - amongst other hobbies!!

The picture frame is fab as it's a box frame so allowed me to build up lots of layers and have fun with the different elements. I've even used some rubs ons!

I'm going to join in with:
My classes on Saturday  19th February are now fully booked but I do have one space in my scrap book class with a family theme on Tuesday 22nd Feb at 7.30pm. I'm also booking up fast for my 'For Everything' classes on Saturday 26th March so please get in touch if you'd like to reserve a place.

Talking of classes - the instructions for my Love You Much class are now available on my side bar.

Choc in the box

I saw a few challenges that gave me some ideas this morning so whilst Zac was at pre-school I made these:

I love this heart paper, it's from the Play Date pack and it's just scrummy. I think it goes perfectly with the Heart Treat Cup too, which I've filled with little sugared hearts. The card is only 3" square:

It didn't take long to make at all, felt the need to add a sparkly rhinestone gem to it though! Here's the just as small box:

The spotty heart is stamped from I Heart Hearts, a set I never seem to get bored of.  I don't think I need to ask you to guess what's in teh box any more do I?

I got these tiny cute little cupcakes from the supermarket for Zac as a treat and ahem, yes I've had one too! I'm joining in with these challenges:

Back tomorrow with the winner of my prize draw from my craft event on Sunday and the instructions for my male themed valentine class too.

The Owl and the Goggle Box

Tomorrow my cute as can be Niece Ellie is going to be celebrating her fourth Birthday. I know she's too little to look on here so here is her card:

I don't often make A5 cards but decided it needed to be big! I've used Party This Way and Punch Bunch stamp sets and loads of pink. Ellie is a proper pink little girl and loves pink and shiny stuff so I've added tons of bling for her:

It was really easy to pop the rhinestone gems around the punched circle as they come on a strip so you just need to gently curl them around as you go.

Now about the goggle box bit. Blake has a bit of a thing for climbing at the moment. Do you think this is a bit too close to the telly?

Extreme McQueen close up or what? I've spent most of the last few days putting him back on the floor or the sofa as he entertained himself by climbing up on the tv bench, the chair:

And of course the table!

It's all good fun!

The boy does cupcakes

I am having a proper lazy day today after such a busy time at my paper craft event yesterday. Thanks so much to everyone who came along and bought, ordered, booked or did a make and take! Hope you all enjoyed it. Here is the make and take we did using the Sale-A-Bration set Punch Bunch:

I've used Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant. Loads of ladies made this card yesterday including my Mum in Law! First time she's sat and made a card with me and I loved it.

So, moving on...I took the boys out with me on Saturday and had Zac's pocket money with me. We went to the toy shop and I said he could choose himself a new toy. He picked up his choice and although I could see myself loving playing with said toy, I wasn't too sure how chuffed Daddy would be with his boys latest purchase. I tried to point out some other toys to Zac, a new truck or digger, maybe a train? Perhaps a drum kit? No Mummy - I want this:

Zac is loving playing with his Peppa Pig Cupcake tower, although he doesn't seem very interested in the chocolate ones, just the pink ones. Blake even got berated yesterday at their 'tea party' for not drinking his tea properly or putting his cake back in the right place! Serious stuff for a couple of one and three year boys old this play business.
