Boys Birthday

Morning everyone. Hope you've had a wonderful weekend. I've got a card to show you today that I made for one of Zac's school friends Jamie. Zac should have gone to Jamie's birthday party on Friday but as I was ill I couldn't take him, so we've given Jamie his card and present this morning. Here is his card:

It's a 6" square card using Real Red, Bashful Blue, Old Olive and Pacific Point. The colours all match with the Celebrations Quick Accents I've used. Jamie's name and the stars are all chipboard from Alphabet Soup and On Board Mix and Match. I didn't have a chipboard number four, so I used some of the chipboard from a packet of DSP and cut it on the Big Shot using Sizzlits Timeless Type Junior Alphabet. It's a great set as has upper and lower case, numbers and symbols for just £65.95.

I daubed all the chipboard with Whisper White ink and then inked over with the colours. I decorated the inside too:

All White

Oooh me likey, this weeks challenge from Diva Mandi and Dame Chrissie is to use White on White with no exceptions. Great excuse to play with the Big Shot I thought. So hop over to Less is More and join in. Here's mine:

 

I've used a mix of Whisper White card and also Shimmery White card, the Shimmery White almost looks like a neutral tone here but that's the joys of early morning photography! I nipped in to the garden to take this in my PJs, thinking no one would see but next door were up and out early and waved hello. Ahem - oops!

So I've used the Big Shot Fun Flowers die here and layered it up using dimensionals for lift. The Button is cut with the Sweet Buttons Embosslits folder as I've run out of white buttons. I don't have any white thread and not wanting to sway from the challenge and use silver thread, I trimmed down the edge of some of the White Organza ribbon to make my own and tied a bow through the button.

I might have to replace these photos later on when the light is better. Right, I can go and have a shower now then. Catch you later LIMettes.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

Well, this morning I was feeling all sorry for myself as my cough is worse and I had to ask a friend to take Zaqc to pre-school for me and my MIL to pick him up. So I had a chat with my friend Susie and we talked of course about Stampin' Up! and what we have and don't have. I mentioned I'd got some stamps from the new mini that I hadn't used yet and Susie pretty much challenged me to pull my finger out. so......

I've made this card using the Sail Away a la carte stamp - that's one you can buy on it's own rather than a set. I stamped it in Pacific Point and paper pieced the sails with Bashful Blue and Pacific Point DSP. The sentiment is masked off from the whale image in the level two hostess set Longfellows. A few highlights with the white gel pen and three jumbo eyelets for decoration before mounting on Pacific Point base and I'm done!

So about the seaside bit.....my Mum and Father in law just called to say they've booked me, hubby and the boys a holiday by the sea! They are in a points club and found us a short break. Yey!!!!

A late post and a new addition to the family

Sorry for being such a late poster today. The day has flown by. My afternoon has been filled with fun with Fluff and Sweet Cheeks - our boys are learning to share which is novel! So I haven't had time to sit down and create so whilst washing up I planned a card in my head and then nipped up to the room of craft to create it! It's not disimilar to one I've made before:

The card is River Rock stamped with a sentiment from Heard From the Heart in Always Artichoke. I've stamped the flower in the same ink on to Springtime Vintage DSP using Pick a Petal and then cut out and stuck down. Simples. Just managed to get a good enough photo as it's a bit dull at the moment, didn't even have time to get out the light box!

So, on to the new addition to our family. It was one of those unplanned events....you know how it is. Jelly goes to charity fashion show, Jelly pays £1 to enter the 'guess the birthday of the soft toy' competition and goes and wins it. Here's Stunt Baby with his new pal Boofle:

Not such a fabulous shot of Boofle but you can see he's much bigger than Blake! He sat in the back seat of the car coming home last night and we strapped him in with the seat belt! The plan was to hide Boofle until Blake's second birthday as that was the date I put down for the competition. So i hid the 'small' bear in my wardrobe last night. Of course Zac was straight in there this morning whilst I was in the shower. All I heard was 'Mummy - massive toy in the door'. Need to think about better hiding places for future.

Another Gerbera Card

Zac went back to school this morning looking very cute in his new school cap. I would think that though as his Mummy. A quickie post from me as I'm off to a charity fashion show in a little while - leaving hubby in charge of putting the boys to bed and all. So I've made another faux gerbera card using the Flower Daisies #2 Big Shot die:

I'm pretty sure I hadn't allowed the glue to dry before I picked it up to take a photo and the centre has slipped. Oops. I've used Melon Mambo, Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery and Elegant Eggplant. The Certainly Celery square has been given some texture using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

As you can see from the light and shadows on the photo, it's another beautiful day, even if there is a chilly wind. Fluff and Sweet Cheeks are coming to play again tomorrow so fingers crossed for another day like today so we can have a kiddy picnic in the garden.

Something Beginning With C

Ooh more fabby sunshine, it does make me smile! Today I have a fun card to share with you. My Hubby's cousin turns 40 this week - nice to see her catching up with me and this is the card I've made for her:

I've used Basic Black card for the base - it's a five inch square card and the inside is a layer of Melon Mambo. The letters and crown are both chipboard from the Alphabet Soup set and On Board Mix and Match. I'm thinking it would have looked better if I'd filed down the edges of the chipboard but you live and learn! I daubed Whisper White ink onto the chipboard and left it overnight to dry before daubing on plenty of Melon Mambo ink to create this lovely in your face pink on black card.

The crown is because she is off to London to celebrate and I know she'll be visiting Buckingham Palace as her daughter will insist on it! I just had to add some self adhesive rhinestone gems to the crown.

I'm going to pop this in Cupcake Craft Challenge this week and wave hello at my old teamies and say hello to the newbies there this week too. You'll rock girls - well you'll have no choice with Fluff in charge! Oh, their challenge is 'something beginning with C' - Crown!!

Look no stamping!

Ooh what a cheat, today's card was such a quickie to make as I've been making the most of a day with my hubby and boys. We went for a walk this morning and ended up at the park, had lollies and fed the ducks. Well more like Zac threw bird seed at them in the style of a projectile missile but the thought was there! Blake was more interested in feeding the pigeons and then Zac entertained us by chasing the ducks that were brave enough to venture on to dry land in his thwarted attempts to 'cuddle a duck Mummy'. Quite glad he didn't manage to catch up with one if I'm honest.

Anyhoo here is my very quick to make card:

It's a Crumb Cake base and I've simply cut around the design on the Love Letter DSP and stuck it down. The butterflies are both cut using the Beautiful Butterflies Big Shot die. I wish I'd embossed the black one but too late now - stuck down with Tombo!

I daubed some Black Stazon ink on to the self adhesive pearls before sticking them on.

Box Frame Class

I had such a lovely morning yesterday in the company of some very creative ladies indeed. I ran my box frame class. The best thing was that everyone made something entirely individual. Here's my creation, made to go in my kitchen, which is white with highlights of bright pink about the place:

I have actually smuggled in a retired colour here Pink Passion, when it retired I couldn't part with it! I've focused on things about me, not sure if this is good or bad as there are three cocktails on here amongst the cakes and coffees. I did get the jelly bean in though in a beveled window pane.

You can see Lynn and Shazza hard at work here and here are their gorgeous creations. Lynn chose shades of purple (again I snuck in a little retired colour here too) and really went to town with the collage look. Isn't it fabulous? Lynn made hers so quickly too!

Next up Tracy's fabulous creation. Tracy is going to become a Nan in July and is pleased not to know if Grandbaby is going to be a boy or a girl so she made this gorgeous vibrant frame for the nursery:

Shazza opted for colours to match her home decor and created this beautiful Chocolate Chip and Tempting Turquoise collage:

Finally Linda who was thinking she'd never get hers finished - stormed ahead to create this elegant and neatly styled creation for her home.

I love them all and wished I had been able to include elements of each of them in my own! It was such an interesting class to run as we had all the ink pads out, most of my stamps and all of the punches. Still clearing away didn't take long at all.
