Tutorial for you

If you visited yesterday you will know Stampin' Up! have just launched their latest promotion ' March Frenzy'. I've made a cute set of cards using some of the products included in the offer and put a mini tutorial together for you too.

These cards are made usinhg the following supplies which are included in the discounted products offer:
  • Cheer and Wishes stamp set - Reduced by 30% to just £11.87
  • Hidden Garden Blossoms rub ons - Reduced by 30% to £5.95
  • Blender pens (pack of 3) - Reduced by 20% to £6.36
I have also used Crumb cake card for the base, Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso and Whisper White ink pads and the Corner Rounder Punch.

These are so easy to make:

Apply your rub ons and stamp your choice of sentiment and then squeeze your inkpads whilst they are closed. When you openm them, there will be ink in the lid as shown in the photo above. This becomes your painting palette.

Pick the ink up by dabbing the blender pen nib into the ink in the lid. The blender pens suck up the ink, allowing you to colour with them. Then colour your images! You don't need a blender pen for each colour as you simply carry on colouring on a scrap of paper and the pen becomes clear again. For this card I have used one end for each colour for speed.

All you need to do is add ink and blend, just like you would with other colouring tools. The Whisper White helps to lift the darker colour and the best thing is it doesn't soak through the card, making one layer cards a breeze.

When colouring like this I tend to start with the darker shade and blend the white ink in afterwards. This works just as well with stamped images as you may have seen on recent posts of mine.

I hope you'll give it a try and let me know as I'd love to see what you create.

Hugs
