You're as young as you feel

I was having a chat with a good friend of mine last week about our birthdays and our ages and we both decided we're still very young at heart. Ms Sugar is a massive fan of anything pink so I made her a little girl's card instead of a grown up one!

I've used a variety of pinks including Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose mixed with Crumb Cake. The giant cake is paper pieced using Big Bold Birthday. The pink birthday girl was stamped using All in the Family with a crown from Every Little Bit. The heart balloons are stamped with I {Heart} Hearts and punched out with Heart to Heart punch. I chose the sentiment from the level one hostess set Afterthoughts. What a combination on one card! I decorated the inside to match:

The present is a combination of Playful Pieces (Level 3 hostess set) and Big Bold Birthday. I know I'm safe to blog this now as Susie has her card!

Had a fun afternoon with the boys and Zac's best friend Aimee and her Mum. It stayed dry after lunch for us to play out in the garden and nowmy bubbas are shattered - yey!

Back tomorrow.

Morning LIMettes

What a gorgeous sunny Saturday it is. I have a class in two hours so I had to sneak making this in between showering and drying my hair! Sat here looking a bit windswept and interesting at the moment. But I must get my weekly make in for Lady Chrissie and Diva Mandi over at Less is More first. Their challenge this week is 'congratulations or thank you'. I went with thank you:

I've used Crumb Cake card for my base and added a narrow strip of Pink Pirouette DSP. Next I stamped the sentiment from the Level One Hostess set Afterthoughts in Chocolate Chip. I punched the sentiment using the large oval punch and the frame is the sizzlits die lots of tags. I could have done the sentiment with this die too but speed is of the essence this morning and I didn't fancy trimming around the perforated lines!

I have added a litle row of self adhesive pearls but I don't think it's made it more is more - do you?

Right I had better go and have an emergency date with my hairdryer or I'm going to look like a scarecrow for the day. James is taking the boys to the hairdressers this morning, will be interesting to see if Stunt Baby will sit still for the event!

Birthday Invitations

Cor it's another scorcher today here. We've had an afternoon walk to the park to feed the ducks, eat lollies and watch the boys terrorise the play area to wear them out! I haven't done any crafting today as it's far too nice to be indoors (pre hay fever ruins summer for me!) so I'm sharing an earlier make. My Step Mum asked me to design her 70th Birthday invitations as she's having a bit of a do later on this year. The theme needed to be white and gold and these are the variations I've come up with, the first is my favourite:

I've used the Elegant Bouquet Embossing folder, Schoolbook Serif Numbers, sentiment from the hostess level one set Afterthoughts and some Daffodil Delight ribbon:

The numbers and sentiment have been stamped with Versamark ink, sprinkled with gold embossing powder and heated with the heat gun to create the metallic look.

Here are the other three versions, would love to know which you prefer. Version two:

Version three:

And version four:

I hope Jackie likes at least one of them!

Thanks with love and a new challenge blog

Bloomin' eck, it's a bit windy this morning, thought the house was going to blow down! So I'm off out for lunch in a while to meet some lovely girlie friends and leaving the boys with Hubby so I get lunch and adult time -wahey!

Feeling in a girlie mood, I just whipped these up:

I found a few challenges that took my fancy and made these for them. A cute little card and matchbox style mini box too. Here's the card:

The challenge was to use soft sky as one of the colours but we don't have that so I've used Bashful Blue, Melon Mambo and Early Expresso. The sentiment is from the level one Hostess Set Afterthoughts. I stamped and cut out the heart from I Heart Hearts and added a pearl. It's layered up on dimensionals to give some lift:

I made the little box to match and popped the same thank you sentiment on each side of the insert box and filled with little mints.

These are the challenges I'm joining in with:
Before I forget, my friends Chrissie and Mandi are about to launch a new challenge blog, so if clean and simple is your thing you're going to want to join in with Less is More.

Good luck to Chrissie and Mandi with their new venture
Well, I'd better go and get myself ready to meet my friends, or I'm going to be late!
