A Blue Monster Mummy

Our challenge at Cupcake this week is actually for two weeks and the theme has been chosen by moi - it's 'thank you'.  I'm a very naughty Cupcake as not only did I forget to blog my cards yesterday, I also forgot to upload them to the team blog - so apologies to my fellow cupcakes!

Zac has become a bit of a fan of the Disney film Monsters Inc (which is fine by me as I love it too) and has developed a bit of a thing for blue monsters. Every day he goes behind the sofa and comes out telling me about the 'blue monster, Mummy - he's my friend'. So I had a stack of thank you cards to make for all the lovely gifts Zac got for his birthday and thought it would be fitting to feature blue monsters! Not quite James P Sullivan but he's happy enough with them!

I've stamped the monsters on to whisper white card and water coloured them using the aqua brush and Pacific Point blue ink - by pushing the ink pad together to get ink in the lid and using that as my pallette.

The patterned paper is from the Celebrations stack. I've used a sentiment from Trendy Trees stamp set, the monster is from Make a Monster and I've aslo used the Word Window and Modern label punches.

And for a bit of fun, here's me with the real James P Sullivan himself!!

When the film came out I worked at one of the companies who sponsored the film and was lucky enough to go to the film premiere and the after show party too. I can tell you, this monster may look cute, but he'd definately been drinking beer and eating something with garlic in!! It's not such a good photo as it's been scanned in but it makes me giggle every time I look at it. Mainly 'cos I look so much younger!!!
