Stampin' Up! For My Family

Oh dear, I have to admit to waking up with a bit of a self inflicted headache this morning. Why I thought it was a good idea to make a card so early this morning and one that too so much effort I have no idea. Still it seems to have cured my of my headache so that's a bonus!

At Less is More this week the challenge is to make a one layer card using script. Stampin' Up! do have many stamps with script but none which would suit the card I had in mind. So instead I created my own script using the stamp set For My Family:

This is actually my third attempt as I went wonky with my wording on the first two and wasn't happy with them. All the sentiments are from For My Family and stamped in Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose and Melon Mambo. Had to really clean the stamp between inkings here.

The cute bunny is out of the Perfect Postage set which is only available until the end of April in the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini. I'm going to be brave and show you a close up of my stamping:

Yep - I have put my Stamp-Ma-Jig through it's paces and it's not even 9am yet! Off for a shower now as I'm still in my PJ's.

Stampin' Up! Easy Events

Now, when I think of making cards using just neautrals I tend to very wrongly think about vintage style cards. So when I saw the challenge set by Mandi and Chrissie over at Less is More, I panicked just a little bit! Anyway, hopefully I have managed to create CAS cards using neutral colours without going vintage!

I've made a set of five cards using Stampin' Up! Easy Events stamp set and the neutrals colour family card, inks and designer papers. Here's the first one:

This one is on Sahara Sand card, whereas the others are on Crumb Cake. All images have been stamped with Stazon ink and then coloured. Firt of all I used Whisper White reinker - poured a little on a plastic lid and coloured all the images with the ink using a Blender Pen. Leave to dry and then colour over with various inks by squeezing the ink pads together to get residue in the lids. Pick this up with the Blender Pen and colour over the white base. You can do this without the white ink to start but it doesn't give such good coverage.

The inks I used to colour my images are Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, River Rock and Soft Suede.

to give a little extra decoration without going over the top, I used the Itty Bitty Punch set to create a row of shapes at the base of each card and stuck coordinating Neutrals Designer Papers on the inside of the card to show through.

To make sure they were as even as posssible, I measured 1/2" up from the base and drew a pencil line, punched the first shape and then measured 1/4" along before punching again.

I like this effect and will use it more often now! Looking forward to the weekend as I'm off perusing charity shops tomorrow afternoon with a friend, always manage to find something fab for my home and then Sunday I'm off to collect a dressing table to transform too.

Have fun

Stampin' Up! Everyday Enchantment Purse

So pleased so many of you are loving my new purse template. I've made up another one today using Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration Everyday Enchantment designer papers. You can get these papers for FREE with a Stampin' Up! order of £45 - but you need to hurry, this offer ends in 23 days on 31st March and then these lush papers will be gone forever.

I've teamed the designer papers up with Stampin' Up! Poppy Parade and Pool Party card. I love both of these colours and have to keep reordering!

I have to show a view from the side to enable you to see the lovely curved base of the purse.

Instead of using Antique Brads and a Trinket Crown charm, this time I've used Stampin' Up! In Colour Designer Printed Brads and the Vanilla Pearl Bauble from the Simply Adorned Range. Stampin' Up! have thought of everything for us here as the beautiful bauble features a lobster clasp so you can re-clip it to any item.

I've used the coordinating Sale-A-Bration stamp set Fresh Vintage and cut around some images before popping the brads through. I've used the larger image on the background for my label before overstamping in Poppy Parade with a letter from Broadsheet Alphabet.

If you would like to have a go at making this purse - the tutorial is available in PDF format via my right hand side bar.

Off now to make lunch, I have two boys harassing me for food as I type!

Stampin' Up! Sale a bration

Boo hiss, where did all the sunshine go? Never mind, staying indoors means more time to try and smuggle in a spot of crafting. I managed to yesterday, it's my Father in Law's birthday this week and they are off to Spain today so I had to pop round yesterday with cards and presents. Here's one I made using the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration stamp set Outlined Occasions:

I've used Crumb Cake card for my base and stamped the sentiment in Versmark then heat set with White Embossing Powder.

Using Blender pens I coloured the image first with Whisper White ink and then went over the top with Poppy Parade and Pacific Point. Do you think I should have been wearing my glasses? Blake has hidden them. He's getting good at hiding things. He hid one of his Grandmas shoes on Sunday and she still can't find it!

To create my rows of repeated text I of course used my trusty Stamp-Ma-Jig to make sure everything lined up. The Dad sentiment is from For My Family and the 'it's your day' is from the same Sale-A-Bration set as the main image Outlined Occasions.

Righto, I'm off to try and get things organised as chaos appears to have taken over the house of Jelly!

Stampin' Up! Two Tags Bag and Tutorial

I set myself a bit of a challenge yesterday afternoon to design my self a new bag template. I got inspiration from my own hangbag and created this:

I've used Soft Suede and Very Vanilla along with the gorgeous Mocha Morning Designer Papers. It a great sized bag and will hold loads of C6 cards and envelopes or a fabulous gift maybe! I wanted to give it a designer feel so I created a label for the front.

It's my initials if it's not too obvious! And every designer bag needs tags and charms too:

It's about time I put some of those gorgeous Trinket Crowns from the Simply Adorned range to good use! Here are some more views of the bag:

If you'd like to have a go at making one of these gorgeous purse bags, the tutorial is now available in my right hand side bar.

Stampin' Up! Create a Cupcake

Can't show you what I've been making today as not yet decided if I'm doing it as a class first or not! So instead I thought I'd share a card I made a while ago but haven't blogged yet. If you haven't seen the Create a Cupcake stamp set or it's corresponding Cupcake Builder Punch in the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalogue - where have you been? I made this yummy card using both:

My colour combo is So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Pretty in Pink and Wisteria Wonder. I stamped the cupcake images and then punched them out (the ribbon is cut by hand though). Next I embossed a piece of So Saffron card using one Designer Frames Embossing Folders and then carefully cut around the outsdide. After sticking down the cupcake I added an In Colour Patterned Brad.

Do you like my heart border? It's made using the small heart punch. Can't loiter as the boys have just got home from their Grandparents and it's time to get them ready for bed!

Stampin' Up! Every Little Bit of lip balm

Yesterday evening I had a stall at a ladies pamper evening and I'd made some new goodies which went down well:

These are my new lip balm holders. I think they look really pretty and they were certainly eye catching on by black display shelves. I've used Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo and Pool Party. A really good example of how Stampin' Up! products go together so well. I've used card, inks, Markers, designer papers and ribbon all in the same three colours.

They are made using one of the tags from the Big Shot Two Tags die. The cute little handbag is from Stampin' Up! Every Little Bit stamp set which I stamped in Stazon ink and coloured with Markers. It's layered up on 1 1/4", 1 3/8" and Scallop Circle punched shapes. I've done the trim on the bag topper with the Scallop Border punch to match. The bags are Stampin' Up! too - the medium cello bags, fab as they come in packs of 50 and are the perfect size for my lip balm holders.

I think the Melon Mambo Scalloped Dots ribbon is one of my favourites, next to the Pool Party Ruffled ribbon that is. I'm off for a rest now, we've had a busy morning at Jungle Tastic play centre. Zac insisted I go down a curvy tube slide with him (one where it's dark inside and you can't see where you're going) and then I had to climb through a hole in the floor and dive into a ball pit which I have to confess I quite enjoyed. Blake as usual tried to gatecrash all the party rooms, some things never change.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Stampin' Up! fabric owls go pool party

Ooh I had fun making more yummy fabric ows yesterday. The boys helped me too - Zac liked pushing the stuffing in and Blake enjoyed running off with buttons and hiding them....when Mumy needed them.

So, here they are....in pink!

I love them - even more than the Spice Cake ones. I've used the Flirtatious Fabric for these ones. Each is different, either the feet or the backs are different fabrics.

I only had enough fabric left to make four so guess what I'll be ordering this weekend? I think the Pool Party large buttons look fab with these colours so I teamed then up with some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon for the hanger to pull the colours together. I'm dreading it if these products retire from the mini catalogue at the end of April so I will have to order loads of them just in case! Here's a close up:

If you want to buy one of these why not pop along to Ravenhead Village Hall, Notts tonight (3rd March) between 7pm & 9pm where I'll be selling them on my stall at the ladies pamper evening. Or if you want to make one yourself - the instructions are available to buy in my right side bar.

Righto, I'm off to get some more crafting supplies made up for my stall this evening whilst the boys are at their Granparents for the day.

Stampin' Up! Easy Wedding Event

My lovely friend Theresa got married a ouple of weeks ago and she'd made all her own wedding stationery but ran out of time towards the big day and asked if I'd mind helping out with a few wedding favours. I loved her Stampin' Up! colour theme of Island Indigo and Very Vanilla:

I used the Pillow Box Big Shot die and embossed half of it with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder then simply wrapped around some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and tied in a knot.

I had to make the happy couple a card to match:

I loved the result and putting it next to some of the favour boxes made me happy - I'm easily pleased y'know. I used the fab Stampin' Up! stamp set Easy Events - it's a great set with images and sentiments for a number of occasions. I stamped the wedding wishes image in Island Indigo and then lightly dragged colour across the birds and leaves using a Blender Pen. Here's a better look:

I know I say it a lot but I do love how Stampin' Up! products coordinate so well, so easy to put simple cards together with the colour matching card, ink, ribbons and designer papers. I decorated the inside too:

Simply done with a stamped image from Petite Pairs - which is perfect for cards as you get a sentiment you could use on the front and one to go on the inside too. Again perfect for many occasions. I just added a matching strip of designer paper to the bottom and all done. Congratulations to the new Mrs & Mrs Wilson, can't wait to see the photos from the day.

Hope you all have a great weekend planned? I've got a stall booked at a ladies pamper evening at Ravenshead Village Hall on Saturday evening - why not come along, get a spot of pampering and talk to me about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator too. I'm there from 7pm - 9pm.

Stampin' Up! Customer Thank You Cards

Ooh it's so very sunny here today after a very foggy start. So much so, I struggled to get decent photos as the sun was blinding me in the conservatory (now known as the furniture workspace but more about that another time!).

I've made up a batch of customer thank you cards:

The colours are Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party and the stamp sets are Aviary and Petite Pairs. Here's the card close up:

I've layered the card stock up and added a strip of Pool Party DSP down the side with a Melon Mambo punched Scallop Ribbon Border trim. I used to spend a fortune buying ready punched strips like this in the past! I've had to use the Stamp-Ma-Jig to make sure I lined up the birds, the cage and the stand - my free hand stamping leaves a lot to be desired! The sentiment from Petite Pairs is stamped on Whisper White card and punched out with the Small Oval Punch and layered on a Lucky Limeade 1" Circle.

I decorated the insides too:

Nothing very exciting but decorated none the less! I have a bit of a thing about seeing lots of things the same (I know some of you do too) so here's a photo to satisfy you:

To finish with - a quick reminder, I still have places available on my all day Spring Craft Event on Saturday 17th March in Nottingham. Just two days left to book your place - see details on this post HERE.
