Recycled Lurve

I have both my boys home with me today as Zac has a chesty cough and going in and out of the cold to play at nursery isn't doing him any favours. He's been doing a spot of fabulous colouring in with Stunt Baby (who needs a new nickname now he is infact a toddler - suggestions welcome) but more of that in a bit.

Fluffy and Co over at Cupcake Craft Challenge blog have set a challenge involving a spot of recycling. I have a collection of these in the room of craft. Actually it's more of a hoard than a collection:

It looks much prettier like this:

I've used the same colour combo as I did yesterday - as hey, I'm messy and all the stuff was still out! Tangerine Tango, Regal Rose. Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake. The tub has DSP glued around the outside and inside. The circle base and lid are cut using the Circles Die (the biggest circle) and topped with 2 3/8" Scalloped Circle, 1 3/4" Circle and a stamped and cut out heart from I Heart Hearts. Would be rude not to make a matching card:

I've created the same topper on a Regal Rose card base. The fab sentiment if from the Sale-A-Bration set Outlined Occasions. I stamped it in Versamark and heat set with White Embossing Powder before colouring in with Markers. Looks neat and tidy doesn't it? Guess who forgot to wear her glasses?

Oops - not so neat close up! So do you want to see what my boys were doing patiently whilst I made this?

Quite abstract me thinks - will have to pop these in Zac's progress folder at nursery tomorrow. Two future demos in the making.

Sprinkled Postage

Now then, Valentine's is nearly upon us and usually I make just the one item for the event - y'see James is the one for me and always will be. However this year I may be tempted to make something for my boys and also I have a Valentine's craft fair coming up so I'd better get busy for that too! Anyhoo, for Hubby I have made a card and chocolate set:

I know my colour combo of Regal Rose, Tangerine Tango, Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake is a bit girlie for something created to give to Hubby, but it's me that's going to enjoy admiring it on the shelf in the living room more than him, so it needs to be eye candy for me too! Here's the card:

So, I've embossed the lower half of the card with the Stripes Embossing Folder and added a strip of Regal Rose DSP trimmed in Tangerine Tango which has been edged with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. Now the image is a mix of stamps:

The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set Sprinkled Expressions, inked up with Markers before stamping and the cute 'lil bunny is from Perfect Postage in the Spring Mini. Punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and mounted on a piece of Poppy Parade card that has been embossed with the Designer Frames Folder and ahem, carefully cut out by hand. I was worried I'd ruin it at this stage but I think my cutting out is OK!

Finally a plastic card box (not Stampin' Up!) crammed full of choccy bars (16 to be exact). Not my choc bar of choice by a long shot but for some reason Hubster likes it - me I'm more of a Hotel Chocolate kinda girl - just in case Hubster pops on for a visit! I made a coordinating insert and wrap.

The box insert has been embossed too but it doesn't show up on the photo. Take my word for it!

Now, my lovely friend Susie is closing her shop and also running the last challenge on her challenge blog Die Cut Dreams. Now I've been on the design team for Susie twice and loved it so I absolutley have to enter this last challenge which is to use pink, red and hearts. Thanks for the laughs along the way Susie - enjoy spending oodles more time with your family.

1 Sketch 3 Ways

Ooh it's been ages since I joined in with a challenge and temptation got the better of me when I saw this weeks sketch challenge over at Less is More. As soon as I saw the sketch an idea came into my head and I ended up making three cards:

I've used the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Sprinkled Expressions and whilst I was at it, had a play with heat embossing too! All cards use the same colour combination of Elegant Eggplant, Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo. Here's the first one I made and my favourite too:

I don't know what happened to my photos today, it's very dull and my pictures have come out a bit grainy. Maybe I'll try again later. Anyway, this is the Elegant Eggplant version. I've stamped the flower image with Versamark and then sprinkled the Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo embossing powders on. To stop the colours mixing, I stamped the images one at a time, added the powder and stamped again. then heat set. Next is the Melon Mambo version:

I've made this in the same way, except we don't have an Elegant Eggplant embossing powder. So to create the effect I inked up the heart stamp first with Versamark and then again with Elegant Eggplant ink. It doesn't damage your ink pads but it means the Versamark ink is on the top when you stamp it so you can then sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder to achieve the same effect. I think on coloured card this works best with darker inks.

Finally the Tempting Turquoise card:

Created in the same way with Elegant Eggplant ink and Clear Embossing Powder. I've also used the Corner Punch on my cards to give them a rounded finish. Thanks Chrissie and Mandi for the inspiration.

It feels like Monday today as Hubby has gone in to work and was off on Friday. So I guess I must be a naughty Mummy as Zac isn't at pre-school, it's nearly 1pm and we're all still in our pyjamas and the lounge floor is a compilation of various bits of train track and lego. Something I have no intention of clearing up until oooh at least bedtime!

Craft Box Party Gift

Ooh the weather is so bright and sunny today, a contrast to the last few days! I've been to a birthday party today with Zac. It was his little friend Darcy's 4th Birthday and I was really struggling to think of a gift to buy her. I am of course an expert when it comes to buying anything Star Wars or Lego related but figured Darcy is more of a fan of things pink and girlie. Hmm, then it came to me in a flash - I'm a Stampin' Up! demo, what better gift can I give.....

Than a personalised birthday card and a matching craft box filled with Stampin' Up! stash? The card measures 6" square and I loved making it as I got to play with the Little Princess stamp set I earnt at Convention last year.

I've used Crumb Cake card for the base and then the same combo I've used a few times recently, Pool Party, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. The letters are die cut using the Simple Alphabet Big Shot dies (glad she doesn't have a long name!) and the princess is coloured with Markers to match:

I stamped the princess and cake in Stazon and coloured before cutting out and layering on a 1 3/4" circle and the new 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch. The number is die cut from the Sizzlits set Timeless Type Junior Alphabet. Then I've added a strip of So Saffron Designer paper and layered on some Regal Rose card, edged with the Scallop Trim Border punch.

I found a box base in my cupboard but no lid, so made one using the stiff white card that comes in the paper packs. Then decorated it to match the card.

Here are the contents:

I filled it with things to match the card, a mini ink pad, a single heart stamp, lots of die cuts, ribbons and buttons. Underneath are A5 sheets of card and designer papers. I made some 3" square cards and added envelopes too. Finally a few stamped sentiments punched out for Darcy to stick on her projects. So easy to put together and agreat kids gift.

Fresh Vintage with a Fresh Twist

Are you itching to know more about the FREEBIES you could earn this year during Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion? Well today I'm going to share the Fresh Vintage set with you. I normally shy away a bit from vintage stuff as I think it's not me. But here's a hint as to what I did with it:

Not looking very vintage is it? Want to see the stamp set? Do ya? OK, here it is:

Fab set I think and it has a coordinating Postage Punch which you can find in the Spring Mini. Also it coordinates with the Triple Layer Doily Punch - bonus! To top that it has coordinating Designer Papers available in the Sale-A-Bration Menu too, Everyday Enchantment:

Both are very lovely, but my problem is that I look at them together and then I can only see that colour combination so I have to seek a colour combo elsewhere. Luckily (I think) for me, I have some bright colours in my home and this cute pink glass teamed up with this photo album worked their magic for me:

Excuse the reflection of a huge pile of outdoor toys - the conservatoire is the only place to get enough light to take photos and, as yet, I've not had chance to clear it out since we bundled everything away for the winter. So I've made another take out box using the Petal Cone Die and a matching card too. To give the Fresh Vintage stamps a different feel, I used Island Indigo card and stamped using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Melon Mambo embossing powder.

The box is held closed with some matching Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon and a tag made using the Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch plus an In Colour coordinating printed brad. Its held on with a clip but you can't see it very well.

Hmm - going to have to look around the house more often to see what colour combos I can find!

Sale-A-Bration is coming

Oooh only two days until Stampin' Up! 2012 Sale-A-Bration promotion begins. Will tell you all about it then but for now I have a project for you made with some of the products from this years Sale-A-Bration. It's a direct case from the brochure:

Can't tell you anything about the stamps or papers yet but I did enjoy playing with the On Board Merry Medley chipboard! I've done some clear embossing on the butterfly and then highlighted some areas with a Whisper White re-inker and also the white gel pen.

Happy Birthday Dad

It's my Dad's Birthday today and now I know my card has arrived on time I can share it here:

I've used Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Island Indigo for my colour combo using three of the gorgeous In Colours. The letters have been die cut from the Big Shot Simple Letters set. The square of DSP were simply punched using the larger square punch (you know me I like anything resembling a collage of squares!). The birthday sentiment is from the hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes, coloured with Markers before stamping:

I even decorated the inside to match:

I think my Dad has now recovered from Zac singing a somewhat out of tune yet entertaining version of 'Happy Birthday' down the phone!

Berry Blossoms and a Class

Ooh 'twas so very nice to have some time in the room of craft yesterday afternoon. I've been determined to make a few scrap layouts and so finally I got the time:

Does it look familiar? It should - it's the same layout as the picture on the front of the new Spring Mini:

I think it shows the Berry Blossoms product suite off beautifully. Using the Berry Blossoms papers. Fruit and Flowers stamps and Blossom Party Big Shot die. Look at the detail:

I've made a coordinating 12x12 layout to go with this one but I'm not sharing it yet as I want class attendees to see it and make it first!

Petal Cone Boxes

Yesterday I had a fab time at Jules' team training and went along with three lovely ladies from Team Jelly - Tracy, Louise and Shazza. As with all training we like to make swaps to get lots of ideas and inspiration and for once I made some 3D projects. I used the Big Shot Petal Cone die to create these take out style boxes:

I made 35 of them but did I remember to take a photo of them all together? Of course not. I've used Pool Party, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose as my colour combination. I was inspired by this photo in the Idea Book and Catalogue:

Aren't they gorgeous colours and projects? I think I may have to case all three of these at some point. Often I get stuck for ideas of what to make and the Idea Book and Catalogue never fails to give my mojo a boost!

I stamped the boxes with a stamp from a set you'll be able to see more of later this month when it becomes available and then decorated with coordinating papers from the Designer Stacks and topped with a flower die cut from the new Blossom Party Die.

I've a lot to get done over the next couple of days, my new class schedule for one! I have had quite a few weeks doing not so much as normal Stampin' Up! wise so I'm going to get my skates on and get cracking.

Creating lots of cupcakes

My friends Hubby turns 40 this weekend and she asked me to make a card for him from her. She's not seen it yet so I hope she'll like it! I have used 40 candles and 40 cupcakes!!

It's one of the biggest cards I've made, each square is just shy of 6". I've used Night of Navy, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point for the combo.

It wasn't easy to get a photo of this at all. On the front I've used Big Shot Simple Numbers dies teamed up with stamps from Create a Cupcake, Party this Way and For My Family.

I lurve these cupcake stamps and even more so as they come with a coordinating Cupcake Bulder Punch so no cutting out to do! The punch is so versatile and you can make so manyt hings with it - more about that another day though.

As it's so big I needed to make a box envelope to pop it in. The new 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch is a great size for using as a tag.

Must go, I'm in the middle of making swaps for Jules' training tomorrow!

New Class Tutorial

Blossom Party Thank You Cards

One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! is the range of colours and their co-ordination. Sometimes I make a card and have to make it another colour way and these cards were no exception!

I've made these thank you cards using Note Cards with co-ordinating envelopes. I love these, they are smaller than our standard cards but not too small and a perfect size for posting or popping in with an order to say 'thanks'. If you've overlooked them you can find them on page 95 of the Idea Book and Catalogue. You get a packet of 20 cards and envelopes for £6.75.

Can you spot the new products I've used?

Firstly I've used one of the flowers from the Blossom Party Big Shot Die. You can find it on page 15 of the brand new mini catalogue (contact me for your copy if you don't have one yet!). It's perfect for card making as it's a small die but has 5 different shapes on it:

The die measures 12cm x 15cm so even if you don't own a Big Shot (yet!) it will easily fit into other die cutting machines too. The die is part of the Berry Blossoms Product Suite and you'll see me using more of this very shortly. There's beautiful patterned paper, a gorgeous stamp set the die and it all matches up with the ruffled ribbons too - yummy!

I've added some Basic Rhinestones to the centre of three of the flowers and ooh where's that sentiment from? Not the Spring Mini that's for sure. You'll have to keep popping back if you want to see where that comes from!

I hope to be back tomorrow with instructions for my fabric owls - I've had so many requests for them - sorry for the delay, won't be long now!

I'm in the middle of constructing a Star Wars Death Star out of cardboard for Zac to pop his little Lego figures in. He saw the Lego Death Star in one of his comics and asked for it. I did tell him if he saved his pocket money every week for the next 7 years he could have one for his 11th birthday. He looked at me blankly and said 'I'm going to show this photo to the lady in the supermarket and tell her that's what I want' Out of the mouths of babes......

We Have A Spring Mini!

Happy Belated New Year Wishes to you all. We went away to stay with my parents in Spain for Christmas so I'm on a mission now to get back into the swing of things. That starts with me saying how excited I am to tell you we have a fabulous NEW Spring Mini Catalogue and it is packed full of gorgeous new products and a new range too! Here's a clue for you:

Yes that's right we have a range of jewellery making products in our new 'Simply Adorned Range'. I've had a bit of a play and here is my first creation.

The range so far includes a chain and a bracelet and here I've used the chain. The adorned products are fabulous as they allow you to personalise bracelets and necklaces in your own style to coordinate with your outfits and you can make as many inserts as you like. I made this one to go with an outfit I wore to my team Christmas party. I love how you can attach the Pink Crystal Bauble where you like as it's on a lobster clasp. Even the fastening and the little charm are cute and the charm says Stampin' Up! on the reverse.

I've created the insert for this Bevelled Glass Front Charm using Pretty in Pink, Melom Mambo, Elegant Eggplant and Regal Rose. The images are stamped from one of the new sets 'Simply Adorned' which of course has been designed to complement the jewellery range. I also punched some flowers using the Itty Bitty Punch and added some Basic Rhinestones too. you can just about see one of the Trinket Key Charms to the top right. It would be rude not to decorate the reverse too:

The range of Simply Adorned products come in beautiful gift boxes so they are perfect for giving as gifts too. You can see the matching bracelet I made below.

And here is a view of the charm empty so you can see how it looks opened up. It has a really secure clasp:

Fabric Owls Attend Jelly Party

On Sunday I held a Christmas party come thank you party for some of my first level downline. It was a great chance for us to catch up and share ideas and experiences and also for me to try and fill them in on what I'd learnt at convention this year. I made them all a little thank you gift, but as they were all the same I had to get them to open the, on a count of three - and then hide them again as Louise arrived just after the grand opening! Here are their gifts:

Yep - I dusted off the sewing machine and got busy making some owls. They're quite big, about 6" tall. Hmm, not recognising any of the products? Ha - you'll have to wait to see what they are in January!! Here's a close up:

Next it was time to give out a few rewards. When my team achieve certain targets I give them a bag charm and of course charms to go on it too. It was lovely to give out so many on Sunday:

And then we had some food. I made a chilli and various bits to go with it. Once we'd eaten and had a festive drink or two, I set the team a crafting challenge. Instead of prepping a make and take for them to do, I put a selection of supplies out and challenged them to make a Love themed project. very unusual making love themed projects to Christmas music! The results were fab and I may have given out a few prizes in the form of Stampin' Up! goodies I'd bought at Momento Mall at convention.

Snowman Soup and a mini preview

It was Zac's last day at nursery until the new year today and I made some cute gifts for his teachers, some snowman soup. Here is one of them all wrapped up and ready:

I found the mugs in the supermarket, you can't really see them but they're nice and big and have shoes and flowers and handbags on them! I popped some hot chocolate sachets, candy canes, a packet of mini marshmallows and a bar of chocolate inside. I made the packaging using Pool Party, Whiser White and Tempting Turquoise card and DSP. To make the gift tag I simply stamped the snowman from Tags Til Christmas.

Here it is with the matching card:

I used the Button Buddies stamps set and brights buttons along with a sentiment from Delightful Dozen and finished with some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon. Have you spotted the new product yet? See the scalloped circle punched shape? It's a new larger punch and you'll be able to get your mitts on it in January with the launch of the new Spring Mini catalogue!!!

Here are all the gifts together:

To wrap them up I used an A4 gripseal bag (none SU) and tied together with the Pool Party ribbon and some white organza ribbon. I also made some tags to match the cards with the snowman soup poem inside:

I printed it out on the PC and used some retired silver elastic thread to attach it to the bag. Finally, just cos I love the pic, here's Zac dressed as Rudolph, just before he went on stage at his first school play:

Hopefully I'll get chance to blog again tomorrow as I have another cheeky look at some projects made using other new products from the upcoming Spring Mini!!

Snow Noel

Cor I know how to leave it without blogging don't I? Sorry about that, no matter how much I wanted to craft my body didn't have the energy. Been back to the Drs and have now been given more than enough medication to get me better so fingers crossed Jelly will be back to normal soon.

Anyway, I did manage to make a couple of simple Christmas cards t'other day so I thought I'd share:

This first one uses the Owl Builder Punch to make the santa owl and the Varsity Alphabet stamps to create the rest of the word. I've used a variety of other punches too including Boho Blossoms and circle punches. My next card is a variation on the same theme:

I'm back!

I've had oodles of messages asking how I am and I can say I am now lots, lots better and am going to get myself back in to the room of craft very soon - tomorrow I hope! Thanks for all your lovely messages.

Most of you know I've just got back from attending Stampin' Up! European Convention, which was held in Disney Land Paris!!!! I have a few photos to share with you. I didn't get chance to go in to the Disney Park itself but I did manage to spot Mickey in a space ship:

On arrival at Convention we were all given our convention bag with goodies inside, it included a gorgeous folder with a copy of the catalogue inside, a pen, our programme of events and a name tag:

Then it was straight to Momento Mall to pic up a few exclusive goodies:

I've not shown all the goodies - far too embarassed to do that. But you can see a gorgeous fabric bag, some shopper bags, an umberella, keyrings, snail leashes, a beautiful silk scarf and I think some pop up bins and book marks may have fallen into my shopping basket too. I was very lucky to be able to get an early visit to Momento Mall along with my fellow convention presenters. It was fab!

After Momento Mall in was in to the main stage and this is how the stage looked:

I am absolutely thrilled to have walked the stage five times - I didn't get up there at all last year! Most of all I am proud to have been placed in 9th position for demonstrator of the year within the UK. I have an amazing team and all my customers to thank for that one.

Finally for today, a photo of some of the gorgeous gifts I received. The blue tub was filled with edible goodies for the journey down from Bekka, the Beau Chateaux tin and matching goodies were a gift from Emma, the Survival tin is from my Stampin' Up! grandma Natalie, the cute little box with flowers on from Zoe - who is an absolute star as she drove us all the way there and back - thanks so much Zoe. I also snuck in a box of tissues of Jo, too cute not too!

I hope I am able to find some decent photos of fellow demos and maybe myself too - the ones on my camera are so grainy, so watch this space!

A Door Plaque and Some Cartons

Cor I did not want to get up this morning! Zac got up in the early hours and snuggled in with us, misleading me into thinking it was almost time to get up. So by the time I'd forced myself awake - I looked at the clock and it was 3am. Of course then I couldn't get back to sleep, until the alarm was due to go off anyway. Grrr. Still it's a lovely sunny day, my boys are playing with their Thomas stuff and we're waiting for one of my teamies Louise to arrive with her little baby Grace.

In the meantime, here are some more projects made using the Nursery Nest Product suite:

I made the chipboard door sign using the backing card out of the Quick Accents packet - nothing goes to waste! Covered it with Nursery Nest paper and inked up letters from On Board Alphabet Soup. Just added a strip of numbers from the Quick Accents pack and then added an owl using the Owl Builder Punch and glued on some googley eyes.

Then, three matching Mini Milk Cartons made using the Big Shot die in Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz and Marina Mist. The little owl is one of the stamps in the Aviary set - which I have madly fallen in love with!

I have a stall at an outdoor craft market tomorrow in Carlton Hill, Nottingham, wrap up warm and come to visit me please!

Simple Scrap Pages

I had a bit of fun making some very quick and simple scrap layouts using products from the lovely Nursery Nest product suite. If you're a bit nervous about venturing in to scrapbooking, these show that you don't have to do much to create a page. Here's the 12x12 one:

Sometimes when you look at a piece of 12x12 paper it's difficult to imagine cutting it up or doing much with it. So all I've done is added my photo of Blake smothered in humus and simply used some of the Quick Accents to add the blue ribbon, label and 'boy' sentiment. Finished off with a couple of self adhesive pearls and a little journalling on Whisper White card with a Marker, punched out to make a tag using the Decorative Label Punch. Simples. Next is a 6x6 layout, perfect to go in the new ring bound matching album!

I love this photo, it's of Zac when he used to go to a play session called Wobbly Ones, we were warned to bring spare outfits this day as they'd be playing in foam. Zac wasn't keen though and soon crawled out! I'd like to say that this design was pretty much cased from this design in the Idea book and Catalogue. I didn't have time for lots of stamping and cutting out so simply replaced that with the blue bird from the Quick Accents.

My final layout is also a 6x6 one and is the simplest layout of the three. It's showing a photo of my nieces Georgia and Eliza eight years ago when they were my bridesmaids. They've both grown up into beautiful young ladies now of course!

Here I've used Perfect Plum card and used mainly the photograph with some patterned paper, a length of White Grosgrain ribbon and some Quick Accents.

Adventures of Jelly and Fluffy

Yesterday I had a stand at the Nottingham Max Paper Craft show and was accmpanied by my buddy Fluffy. Here are a few photos of my stand - before the crowds arrived. We had the make and take and demo areas in the middle, displays at one end and retired stamps for sale at the opposite end.

And yes I added the letter 'I' before the show opened. That's what happens when you're making your displays late at night the night before! The other display area:

Here's the make and take, inspired by one a swap that Jules had made. Fluffy ran the make and take for me and was distraught no one knew who she was (more about that in a bit).

And here's the project I demo'd - it's a class by Jenny Moors and uses the gorgeous Mocha Morning papers:

Then the fun really started, a couple of crafting ahem 'celebs' (NOT myself and Fluffy I might add) attended the show and their table was set up in front of my stand. We had much fun standing on chairs and sticking up two fingers to make bunny ears whilst folks posed for their photos. Sadly I'm yet to see any successful bunny ears on facebook or twitter! But I did get this shot of our Fluff hyperventilating in shock behind the stand 'cos the crowds weren't asking to have their photo taken with Fluff n Jelly:

When she finally dragged herself up we had a photo taken of us!

I cropped it so you can't see my cake layer! To finish I thought I'd better share a pic of one of the celebs. I've covered up the ladies faces as I didn't get permission off them to blog this. Can you spot the Fluffster in the background holding up a Stampin' Up! sign?

Mocha Morning

Actually it was more of a latte than a mocha morning for me! I've just got home from visiting my lovely downline Tracy. It was her birthday this week so I popped round with her card and a bottle of bubbly and took some breakfast too, didn't make it mind, got it from Maccy D's!!! So here is the card I made for Tracy:

I've used the very delish Mocha Morning papers, like many other demos, I find myself wanting to just sit and stroke these papers, some are flocked and fluffy and others have a lush pearl effect to them. Hmm, must get another pack purely to admire and not use! I've made Tracy's card using Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake card, teamed up with the yummy new Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon. Here's the front:

I've stamped the image from the Hostess Set Happiest Birthday Wishes in Soft Suede and cut out using the Big Shot Lots of tags sizzlets set. Do you lurve the Antique Brad? Next up the middle of the card:

I love the oval embossed frame, it's a set of two called Designer Frames. The Extra Large Oval punch fits perfectly in the centre. I've created the sentiment by combining stamps from For My Family. Finally the third part of the card:

You can see here I've used the Big Shot Stripes Embossing folder - I have on the front too but it didn't show up too well on the photo. The sentiment is again from Happiest Birthday Wishes. Hope you like it. I was very much inspired to make this after some I'd seen on Jenny Moores' blog.

I have to race now to get myself ready for the Max Paper Craft Show in Nottingham tomorrow, so much still to get done...eeek! Big Top Fun

Blimey, the Indian Summer has well and truely gone hasn't it? I'm first to admit to being a bit nesh and have had the heating on for the last hour! Had to scrape the ice off the car this morning too - shudders!

As I said the other day, I'd been having a bit of a play with new set Under The Big Top and have a couple more cards to share with you:

Excuse the shadow across the photo, I keep dashing into the conservatory when the sun comes out and it clouds over again before I get chance to get a decent photo! I've used patterned papers here from Big Top Birthday and hand cut the bunting and the balloon and layered over more DSP from the same pack and a strip of Old Olive DSP too. The sentiment is stamped from Under The Big Top and punched out using the Decorative Label Punch.

Next up is the strong man, no Big Top would be complete without him!

I got the idea of using the In Colour brads as his weights from a card sample I saw at leadership training. I've combined stamp sets here and used Pennant Parade as I think they go together perfectly. Even better now we have the Petite Pennants Builder Punch to go with! Last year I sat patiently cutting out loads of bunting from another co-ordinating stamp set Party This Way to span across two 12x12 layouts. Humph!

All About The Tequilla Body Slammer....

So, today I've been busy doing mroe prep for the Max Paper Craft Show this Sunday in Nottingham, and I set about makinga new page for my scrapbook. I wanted to use the Flirtatious papers and thought a flirty theme for my layout would be apt.

Not that I'm a particularly flirty person I might add, I'm happily married and love my Hubby to bits. BUT....a girl must have fun on her hen day and join in the fun and when I was given a list of dares to carry out on mine, I was only to happy to oblige.

If you're of a nervous disposition, please don't worry - in comparison to some hen pranks, this was a very tame affair! Here I am experiencing my first (and last) tequilla body slammer......

I've used Whisper White 12x12 for my background and punched a border using the Lace Ribbon Border punch and filled the gaps with punched circles. the huge doilie is cut out from a 12x12 patterned sheet of Flirtatious papers and the letters die cut using the Timeless Type Big Shot dies.

I've told the tale leading up to said tequilla body slammer in my jounalling - more than I'd normally write, but I'd hate anyone to flick through my scrapbook, find this page and make the assumption this is a normal daily occurence for Jelly.

If you've not yet figured it out - I have the tequilla shot on the table ready to drink, my helpful waiter has a wedge of lime gripped in his teeth and erm, I'm about to pour salt on his chest! Don't worry - my Mum was there to supervise and make sure I did it right!

Time for a case

I saw some fabulous project ideas when I attended Stampin' Up! leadership training in September and decided to have a bit of a play and case some of the projects. These are made using Under The Big Top and really inspired me to get creating. I've changed the colours and added a few bits:

We were so lucky that we were given this stamp set at training, I'm really pleased as I think I may have overlooked it in the catalogue for a while! I've used a colour combo of Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Peach Parfait and Whisper White to coordinate with the Big Top Birthday papers. I love the simplicity of this first card and it would be so easy to replicate in other colours and using alternative stamps too.

I've used Solid Stripes background stamp and added a Brights Button. The white thread is trimmed from the edge some white organza ribbon.

This next one uses paper piecing and layering but still leaves an uncluttered card. It uses the Fun Flowers Big Shot die layered with the Scallop Circle punch.

I enjoyed making this one the most as it meant I got to have another play with the Perfect Pennant Big Shot die!

I'm busy getting my display boards ready for my stand at the Max Paper Craft Show in Nottingham this coming Sunday, I hope you'll be able to pop and say 'hello'.

More Gift Ideas

I've had such a busy weekend that today I'm having a chill out day with my boys, we've turned the lounge into Thomas Land and seem to have added a load of lego in there too. I haven't had a full day with both my boys for over a week now so I'm loving it.

My last couple of posts have shown you some gift ideas I've made and today is no different! Here I've prettied up some pencil sets and added cupcake erasers too:

I've used Regal Rose card combined with the new in colour papers in Pool Party - mmm what a yummy combination. i've displayed these on Wysteria Wonder patterned paper - they all look so lush together. The hearts are die cut using the Big Shot Timeless Type alpha set - did you know it contains shapes and symbols too? So useful!

Back to my day of playing with trains!

I've made a few gifts this week, do you like these cute stationery sets?

Clearly I didn't make the stationery sets themselves! I bought them and wrapped them up in gorgoues Baja Breeze and new in colour Cameo Coral. I've used the matching designer papers and used the lace border punch to create the lovely strip across the front. I love the crinkled effect the seam binding ribbon creates too.

Righto, I'd better get on!

A Spooky Treat

As a rule I don't really do much for Halloween - the boys aren't old enough yet to understand what it's all about. But I couldn't resist using the new Frightful Sight papers, they're so spooky! So I made 30 containers, each with a packet of jelly sweets inside:

If you're not a huge fan of Halloween, you'll still love these papers as they are double sided and the reverse sides have spots and stripes etc - perfect for those awkward to make cards for chaps! The bats are stamped from the very versatile set Every Little Bit, just stamped on Peach Parfait card, punched out and layered on a Basic Black Scallop Circle.

Can't stop, Jelly has a whole day without boys and has much to do! I've got a stall at a craft fair at the john Godber Centre in Hucknall tomorrow, so if you want to pop by and see me demonstrate - that's where I'll be!

A Hostess Gift and a New Job!

Last time I posted I was off to Kathy's party. I had a fab time and really enjoyed showing off some of the new products too. I thought I'd share with you the Hostess Gift I demonstrated and gave to Kathy:

It's gift pack filled with gift tags and accessories too. I made it using the new set Tags Til Christmas, you can make much more than just tags with it but I thought I'd make a start with something obvious! I used the gorgeous new Lace Ribbon Border Punch on it too. Here are the contents:

I've used a 6x6 scrapbook pocket and lined it with paper from Holly Berry bouquest Speciality Paper. It's gorgeous, very traditional and some of the papers are embossed and glittered, yummy!

Perfect Pennants and Stampers Club

Blimey where has the day gone? I'm off out tonight to do a Stampin' Up! workshop for Kathy, can't wait - hoping she earns oodles of Hostess Rewards. The focus of the party is going to be Christmas so I made a little bunting using the new Perfect Pennants Big Shot die:

I've used a colour combo of Old Olive, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. The bunting is mainly created using the Perfect Pennants die, I love the large triangles and the gorgeous scallop edged circles. The top edges have been made using the Top Note die and the lettering using the Timeless Type Alpha set. Both circles have been punched using the 1 3/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches.

You can see in the photo above that I've embossed the pennants using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder too. All strung together using some Early Espresso grosgrain ribbon.

Well not ones to fear germs Fluffy and Sweet Cheeks came to visit today which was sooo lovely. The boys have all started to play nicely together now and are learning to share, well almost. Me and the Fluffy one even got to eat a cupcake and drink tea whilst it was still hot!

I've used Melon Mambo, Bashful Blue and Crumb Cake and stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo ink. The butterfly is one of those items that I think often gets overlooked in the catalogue, so turn to page 103 where you'll see the chipboard set On Board Merry Medley. I popped out the butterfly and covered it with patterned paper from Beyond the Garden and then ran it through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. In fact, look on page 97 of the catalogue and you'll see where I cased this card from!

Pennant Parade and a New Class

Sorry for my absence again, the lurgy has well and truely struck the house of Jelly these last few weeks. At last we're all on the mend (she says rapidly touching wood before more germs come my way!).

So I want to share with you one of the most fabulously versatile stamp sets in the new Idea Book and Catalogue. It's called Pennant Parade and is available in both wood and clear mount. Best of all, it has a coordinating punch - Petite Pennants Builder. I love it when the cutting out is made easy for me!

Here's my first creation using both the stamps and the punch:

I've used a combo of Lucky Limeade (yum), Poppy Parade, Whisper White and Garden Green. Here's just the card:

I stamped the scalloped pennant in Garden Green onto Lucky Limeade card and punched out then the triangle in Lucky Limeade, colouring in the dots with Poppy Parade and Garden Green Markers before punching out too. The tree stem and sentiment are out of the same set - how easy to mass product Christmas cards. Do you love the new ruffled ribbon in Lucky Limeade and the matching Designer Printed Brad?

New Catalogue and New Product Range too!

Today sees the launch of the brand spanking new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue! Mine is already well thumbed and there is just sooo much in there I want I can't begin to tell you! you can view the online catalogue by clicking HERE or on the picture in my sidebar. If you've not got your new catalogue you can order from me in my sidebar too.

So a new product range, what could it be. Clue number 1:

Yes I got the Toyota out for the occassion. We've got fabric! Several ranges and the one I'm showing you here is called Flirtatious and has matching paper, punches and stamps - woweee! Here's my first fabric make:

I've made a storage tote for my clear mount stamps! It holds 9 sets!

It's sitting on a piece of Flirtatious paper! It's all sewn together with card panels between the layers to make it sturdy. Here's the inside:

And here it is folded flat for storage or posting as a gift:

I've used the very gorgeous Pretty in Pink Striped Grograin ribbon to make both the handles and the rim around the top edge. Don't look too closely! I used to study textile design at university, fabric for me was all about the design, not the sewing it together afterwards!

Jelly's Off to Vienna

Oh my gosh I'm so excited I can hardly breathe (inbetween coughing and wheezing!). Yesterday evening I got a phonecall from Stampin' Up! to say I'd officially earnt the 2012 incentive trip to Vienna!!! I have to say a MA-HOOSIVE THANK YOU to all my customers and my team both downline and upline for all your help and support. I couldn't have done it without you. The cut off date for achieving the trip is today so I've managed it by the skin of my teeth!

So, I managed another little play yesterday afternoon with my new stash and made this:

I've used Pool Party (new in colour) for my base and teamed it up with Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant. The gorgeous image is from Easy Events and is fast going to become one of my new favourites as it contains eight stamps covering many themes. I was lucky enough to win on prize patrol at recent Stampin' Up! leadership training and have put my prize to good use here. I stamped the image in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Melon Mambo embossing powder.

Must pause here to mark such a moment. To know Jelly is to know how much I have longed for coloured embossing powders - especially the pink variety. Heaven in a small tub.

The embossing powder is so fine as you can see from the delicate lines on the image. I've done a little shading too using a blender pen and some Whisper White ink. Above you can also see a close up of the new Melon Mambo Scallop Dots Ribbon (Jelly pauses for yet another dramatic swoon). Did you spot the other new products I've used?

Phwoar - In Colour Designer Printed Brads! How lush are these babies? I thought it was about time I shared some projects made with some of the goodies out of the new Idea Book and Catalogue that I was able to pre-order. Here I've made a couple of gift boxes and cards:

I've used four of this years brand new In Colours which are Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Island Indigo. Other new products I've used are the very gorgeous Lace Ribbon Border Punch and one of the gorgeous scalloped circle is from the Perfect Pennants Big Shot die. oh and of course the circle sentiment is new too - it's from one of the hostess sets Happiest Birthday Wishes.

I've used Pear Pizzaz Seam Binding ribbon as it was the closest match I had in my stash. You can see I've used the round tab punch to make the ribbon closure too.

I should have posted this yesterday but I had to focus on Zac as he didn't have a good weekend health wise and needed to see a Dr. Got to keep an eye on him but my little lad is on the mend now thankfully.

So it's challenge time over at Die Cut Dreams and this fortnight we have a colour challenge for you. We want to see you using Pink, Brown and Cream on your creations. Here's mine:

I've used Pretty in Pink as my card base layered with Early Espresso and Very Vanilla card. The Vanilla card has been embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper folder, love it! I stamped the cake in coordinating colours and cut them out, sticking them down with Dimensionals and added a button from the Subtles collection rather than a cherry or candle.

The fabby cake is from the retiring set Big Bold Birthday and you only have until Friday this week to order it before it is gone for ever. Mind you, you might want to be quicker than that 'cos I posted a card using On A Pedestal the other day and then it sold out pronto! the Early Espresso Striped Grosgrain ribbon is also retiring (boo hiss). The sentiment is not a Stampin' Up! one, it's a digi image from my friend Lynn on our Design Team.

Bye bye my lovely cake

As a self confessed cake fan, On a Pedestal is one of the retiring stamp sets I'm very sad to wave goodbye too. So I had a play with it today!

For a change I've used Whisper White as my card base, not something I do very often. I stamped the cherries in Poppy Parade and stick a strip of the Early Espresso Grosgrain ribbon down. Did you realise this is retiring too? I confess to stamping all elements of the cake in individual colours and cutting them out!

I must say a very BIG thank you to everyone who is putting orders in through me this week.

Many of my regular customers know I'm so so close to earning the Stampin' Up! incentive trip to Vienna next year and only have until Friday to nail it. Oh yesterday I had a fabby retiring products afternoon at home. Thanks so much to everyone who managed to come along. Keep reading as I'll be announcing the winner of the £30 free spend in the new catalogue in this post!

I made this card for my Step Mum's birthday and I know I'm very safe to blog it now:

It's an A5 card using Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango, I love these colours together. Both the stamp sets used on this card are retiring this month, Cheers to You for the cocktails and sentiment and Schoolbook Serif Alphabet set. Can you guess I had to use the stamp-ma-jig to get all these lined up? I coloured the cocktails with Markers and also coloured the sentiment stamp with Markers before stamping too. The very gorgeous Sweet and Sour papers are also retiring this month so if you love them as much as I do, please give me a call to place your order before they're all gone.

The orange gems are the Basic Rhinestones, coloured with a permanent pen. I decorated the inside too:

The sentiment stamp used on the inside is the retiring On A Pedestal. Makes me a bit sad as both this set and Cheers to You were in my starter kit when I first joined Stampin' Up!

All Day Christmas Class more photos

What a nightmare week! the whole family have taken it in turns to be ill, myself included resulting in two days in bed, which to be honest is the most sleep I've had in a long time! Still, everyone is well again now so back to normal.

In my last post I'd said I'd share more photos from my Christmas all day class. I've also popped the PDF tutorial in my right hand side bar. Obviously the Jolly Holiday papers have now sold out, but you can substitute with other papers easily enough.

Christmas came early in Nottingham

Cor it's been a while hasn't it? I've had so many emails and messages asking if I'm OK as I haven't blogged in a while - thank you so much! I am fine, have just been super busy and then had a poorly Zac followed by a poorly hubby and a lot of work in between to organise my all day Christmas class which was on Saturday just gone.

I had a fabulous day with the help of my lovely downline Tracy. We had Christmas music playing, lots of Christmas projecta nd of course celebration chocolates out to scoff! I took loads of photos but stupidly I must have switched it to the wrong setting so the mojority of the photos are too blurred to share. However I have managed to rescue some of them!

Here's a shot of part of the hall! We made use of the room dividers as they were the perfect height for setting up stamping and die cutting stations!

Simply Said

Ooh why is it sometimes I wait until products are retiring before I realise how fab they are? I've had Simply Said for ages and very rarely used it. And now I could make squillions of cards using it. I took my colour inspiration from teh also retiring Nursery Suite Speciality Papers:

So I've used Regal Rose for my card base layered with Early Espresso and Whisper White. I ran just the middle of the card through the Crimper to create a little texture then stamped my sentiment in the corner. I stamped the flowers in Regal Rose, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso and Pear Pizzaz and then patiently cut them out. Yes that's right, Jelly is now happy to do a spot of cutting out every now and then! I've popped them in place using Subtles Brads.

A Free Tutorial for you

Hello

I'm a bit late in posting today because I've been busy (with the boys out for the day) prepping for my all day Christmas class this Saturday - I can't wait, I have some fabulous projects lined up for everyone who's coming. Anyway, last week I promised to post a tutorial on how to make the tea light boxes I've been making a lot of recently. So here goes:

Supplies:

Trimmer with cutting and scoring blades
Real Red card - 8 1/4" x 3 3/4"
Chocolate Chip card - 6 1/4" x 7"
Chocolate Chip card - 6" x 1 1/2"
Patterned paper - 5 3/4" x 1 1/4" (I've used some from the christmas Jingle Scrappin' kit)
12" striped grosgrain ribbon
Scrap Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip card
1/2" circle, Oval and Scallop Oval punches
Sentiment stamp and Real Red ink

Score the Red card on each side at 1", trim off the corners to form triangles and cut two slots on opposite sides to form corner flaps
Apply Tombow to the corners and fold in to form your base

Use the 1/2" circle punch to punch a half circle slot on each end ad pop in 4 tealights (OK so I only had 2 left!)

Score the Chocolate Chip card along the 7" side at 1 7/8", 3", 4 7/8" and 6"
Stick down the Real Red layer and the patterned paper, sentiment and scallop oval
Apply Tombow to the 1" flap and glue to form your wrap

There you go!

A Guest Book and a New Class

Aw Zac just got home from his first full day at pre-school. He'll be doing two full days a week now, the house has been very quiet today with just me and Blake! Right then, I'd better share a project. My step mum is celebrating her 70th Birthday this weekend with a bit of a do, so I made her this guest book as a present:

The book and tassle are from my supplies and the sentiments have been type don the PC - everything else is Stampin' Up! I made this to match her party invitations which I'd already made using Daffodil Delight card and satin ribbon.

The Daffodil Delight Satin ribbon is retiring this month so if you love it - you need to order some quick before it's all gone! The patterned paper is from the Greehouse Gala pack which is also retiring!

A simple anniversary

I blinked and missed my wedding anniversary this week with hubby having his accident. Thanks so much for all your kind words and messages. To update you - he is doing fine and has returned to work, his eye is a mess but it will get back to normal! Anyway, I didn't show you the anniversary card I made for him so here it is:

I've used Crumb Cake card for the base and rounded off the corners with the corner punch (love it so much) Then I punched squares of plain card using the 1 3/8" square punch and smaller squares from the designer series paper stacks using the 1 1/4" square punch and stuck then down. I use the grid paper to line them up straight!

The letters and hearts are all die cut using the Big Shot Timeless Type alphabet die set, did you know the set contains numbers and shapes too? Bargain! I added the second layer of the heart on a dimensional and added highlights with the white gel pen to make it look like a sweetie. Finally I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. the sentiment is part of one of the retiring sets - Cheer and Wishes and has a whopping 40% off!

Gift Box or Bag

My second post today and a bit late due to the bank holiday weekend and then my hubby having an accident at work. I am so so lucky that his injury wasn't a few cm over to the right or he may have lost his sight in his left eye. I won't go into detail, am just so relieved he hasn't damaged his sight.

Anyway, holidays and nursing aside, I am late with my DT project for Die Cut Dreams. This fortnight our challenge is to make and gift bag or a gift box. Here are mine:

I've made a set of gift boxes containing 4 tea lights each. The gorgeous Jolly Holiday papers and beautiful striped Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon are both retiring this month. These boxes are so easy to make and I will be posting a FREE tutorial on here this week so you can make them too.

This class has been hugely popular but I still have a few places remaining so have decided to keep booking open until Sunday 28th August.

We'll be making all the projects above, plus around 15 cards and extra stuff too. Full photo and written instructions are provided and lots of projects around to inspire you. You are welcome to use your kit to make up your own designs - it's your day! I guarantee you'll also have plenty of kit left over to take home with you to make even more projects.

I've been so busy with various things and also had intermittent tinterweb issues that I haven't blogged in over a week. Shame on me! Still I am back now. I should have posted this last Monday actually - it's my DT project for Die Cut Dreams and our theme this week is Pink, Green and Coffee. Here's mine:

I've used a colour combo of Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzaz and Early Espresso. The image is from the hostess level one set A Slice of Life. I stamped it on water colour card and painted it with inks and the aqua brush. It's a card and gift set. And the gift?

Coffee of course! So easy to make and a nice little something to pop in the post to a friend too. I'll be back later with an updated list of classes and events.

Inky Fingers and the stripey monsta

It's not often I do two posts in one day but I just had to today! I'd already posted when I saw the challenge this week over at Less is More to create a one layer card using inks (not ink pads!). Well it got me in a proper pickle and I can tell you that the card I'm showing you is number 4. The first 3, well lets just say have been confined to the B1N file!

Here is the state of my desk as got inky:

This is the first time I've put my reinkers to use as I haven't even had to use them to freshen up an ink pad yet! Here you can see the inks before they dried:

I didn't have any glossy white card so instead I used a piece of the 12x12 card that comes in the designer paper packs and cut it down to 5" square card. Next I stamped the large flower from Growing Green in Versamark ink and heat embossed using the white powder. Then I used an aqua brush to 'flood' each area f petal with water then dropped Riding Hood Red and More Mustard inks in - again a petal at a time. I've seen this technique used before where you spray the entire area with water before adding the inks, but I wanted to contain my inks within the stamped area - not let it seep on to the white area of card!

I heat embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder as didn't want to spoil the card after all my effort with a smudged sentiment!! Here it is finished and dry:

I've been out with the boys this afternoon to see some crafty friends who had an open house today. They had some older girls and I can't thank them enough for looking after Zac and Blake in the garden - Blake was on a mission to fall in the pond! Anyway, I couldn't resist this cute lil' monsta and had to buy him:

Now I apologise for the side on view, but no matter what I do, blogger will not put my monsta the right way around!

Vintage Man!

Sprry for my absence the last few days - I'm back to blogland now! I did say that the next card I posted would be one for a chap so as promised here is my vintage man card:

It's the card I made for James from me. I've used Riding Hood Red, Basic Black and Very Vanilla card. the DSP is from the Love Letters collection and I added a length of Basic Black 1/8" Tafetta ribbon. I created the sentiment using the Vintage Type rub ons in Very Vanilla and Basic Black and stamped the crown from Artisic Etchings on to Very Vanilla card and cut out. I even decorated the inside:

Now I know the cake reference isn't very vintage at all, but my huby would be one unhappy man if he didn't get a cake on his birthday. When he opene dthe card he asked me if he was going to be king for the day. I just laughed!

Monster Birthday

Tis my wonderful Hubby's Birthday today, he had to go to work with a bit of a hangover this morning bless him so he can't wait to get home and relax. I'm doing tapas for us after the boys have gone to bed, yummy.

I made a cute card for him from Zac and Blake:

It's a 7x5 card using Make a Monster which I adore. I stamped the same monster several times on to Whisper White and then again onto various spotty designer papers and cut out. once stuck to my monsters, I added various body parts and then staped 'Daddy' using Just Perfect Alphabet. Matching Markers came in handy to colour the arms and legs etc in. The very simple birthday sentiment is from Occasional Greetings.

Throughout the month I will be sharing projects I've made using this kit to inspire you. The first is a one page 12x12 layout I created yesterday. Hubby got home from work and I was feeling a bit frayed as the kids had definately dominated Mummy! So he sent me up to the room of craft to recover and this is what I created:

I'ved used a sheet of 12x12 Testured Basic Black Card and added a strip of the Love Letter Designer Paper down one side. My title uses the Very Vanilla Vintage Type Rub Ons and the huge flourish is cut out from one of the other sheets of DSP. My journalling tag is cut from Riding Hood Red card using the Top Note die and again in the DSP with the edges trimmed to form a top layer. I've used the Stampin' Write Journaller to add my story. To get my pearls evenly spaced I used the mat pack and paper piercing tool to mark dots in the card and then stuck my pearls down.

The photo was taken a few years ago at my cousins wedding. We asked for something to warm a bottle of baby milk in and they gave us a Moet cooler! My sister in law took this fabulous photo.

I've been asked to re-start my monthly scrapbook challenge too, so watch this space!

My lovely downline Tracy has recently become a Nan for the first time to little Leo. He's such a cutie too. I popped round to see Tracy yesterday to give her a mini album / brag book I'd made for her:

I went for Pear Pizzaz, Baja Breeze and Marina Mist and used papers and accents from the Nursery Suite collection.

These photos are of Tracy and Dean getting to cuddle Leo for the first time, don't they look proud?

Here's the album opened out to show four more pages. I've used the lush Baja Breeze Striped Grosgrain ribbon to close it. Of course I made a matching card:

I stamped the image on to watercolour card and shaded with the aqua painters and ink from the pad lids.

Not sure what my plans are for today yet - it looks like the sun might stay out so probably a day in the garden in the sand pit!

Fabulous at 80

I got an order for an 80th Birthday card and party guest book and now the party is out of the way I can share the projects:

The guest book is from my own supplies and I've decorated it with Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry card, designer papers, buttons and ribbon. The sentiments have all been created on the computer and the flowers using the Big Shot Fun Flowers dies along with the Perfect Polka Dots and Vintage Wallpaper embossing folders. A button popped in the centre to finish. I lurve thge Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon, it's such a rich shade.

The card is made in the same way but as it's 6" square I made a matching box for it. Nancy loved it so I'm told!

I have most of the day to myself to craft today as hubby has taken the boys to the park and then off to the supermarket. How much fun am I going to have? So on that note - I'm off to the room of craft to creat!

Some Sparkle and Some Brown Wrapping

Ah bliss - the jelly household is in unusual quiet today. Hubby has gone to work and en route he deployed the boys at his Mum's for the day as I have a class this afternoon. Done so much already - cleaning, washing, tidying, prepped for class, made a card for this weeks challenge over at Less is More! This week Chrissie and Mandi want us to use colours from our nations flag. I opeted for the Union Jack rather than St Georges flag and erm, made a Christmas card:

Apologies for my photo, normally I'd use my light box in the conservatoire but this morning is has several wasps buzzing around annoyed that they've been in there all night so I darted outside and had to be so quick as it's just started spitting with rain! It's a 5" square card using Real Red, Whisper White and Pacific Point card and inks. The sentiment is from the Sparkly and Bright set and I coloured the stamp with Markers before stamping. The penguin is from Every Little Bit and I stamped him three times using the Stamp-ma-jig to get them in place. The hat is made up from elements from the hostess level three set Playful Pieces. I added a little detail to the penguins using Markers added a couple of Rhinestone Gems then used a two way glue pen to draw in some snow and sprinked it with Dazzling Diamonds. Quite an easy card to mass produce I think for me this year.

Yesterday Mr UPS delivered some Stampin' Up! goodies for some of my customers and I always spend ages afterwards folding up the brown packing paper to either recycle or give to Zac's school. The boys decided they wanted to help and had a good 45 minutes running around the living room squeeling and giggling whilst they 'helped'.

Right - next job, off to the Post Office!

An Exclusive Purse and a Matching Card

Mr UPS delivered some orders today and look what was inside:

Yey - the beautiful, exclusively designed cosmetic bag, Rich Razzleberry Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and a tub of Assorted Clips. Actually there were more than one of each on the parcel! The card didn't come from Stampin' Up! however, I used the gift as my inspiration to make it this afternoon. You can see it better here:

I started off with textured Very Vanilla card and stamped the floral image in Crumb Cake and the Sentiment in Night of Navy. The stamps are both from For Everything. Next it was out with the Mat Pack and Paper Piercing Tool to create holes for my faux stitching - so easy to do straight lines with the guides on there - and drew my stitching in with Night of Navy marker. The sentiment is coloured with Markers too - Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise and Crumb Cake. Now the inside of the bag is lovely colourful stripes as is the matching tag but we don't have a patterned paper to match. So I took another piece of Very Vanilla card and created my stripes with coordinating Markers using my ruler as I can't draw straight for anything!

Whilst waiting impatiently for Mr UPS to deliver an order along with the free gift set I decided to have a play with the Rich Razzleberry Striped Ribbon and Clips assortment to see what I could come up with:

I've used Pretty in Pink along with Rich Razzleberry for these. A card, a gift carton and a gift box with a matching ribbon brooch / hair clip (has both attachments in the back). I've used plenty but no where near a full roll of ribbon as you get 9.2m on a roll and one of each style of clip. You get 8 each of three designs in the tub.

A project finally finished

Urgh, hubby overslept this morning so when he woke me up it wasn't a gentle shake to say 'time to get up'. No I was awoken by a small child hurtling himself at my tummy from what felt like a great height. 'Mummeeee, Mummmmmeeeeee get up, hungeee'. I don't do well at being launched into the world of the awake! So I'm still feeling a little groggy some three hours later. The boys have had their breakfast and I'm slowly still waking up.

So, onto the reason I'm posting! Followers may remember a while back I posted this 12x12 page layout:

Well yesterday evening I felt inspired to create the second page:

I really enjoyed making this one. I've used my favourite photos of Zac as a newborn and knocked most of the colour out of them before printing. I've used Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze and Whisper White again to link it to the first page and the same stamps etc. Here's a close up of some of the detail:

I used some Nursery Suite Quick Accents and stuck to Sahara Sand DSP and stamped the baby bottles around and hightlighted with the White Gel pen. Here are the two pages together:

You'll probably need to click on the photo to see a larger version. I've had a few requests to start up my monthly scrapbook challenge again so I promise I will get this sorted!

Holiday Fun

It's challenge time over at Die Cut Dreams and this fortnight we want to see 'Holiday Fun'. I opted to do a spot of scrapbooking as I've been neglecting my layouts for a while. Here's mine:

The photos are from our holiday to Cromer earlier this year and everything used on the layout is Stampin' up! with the exception of the larger die cut circles. I made the tags and decorated them using lots of stamps, papers and quick accents and both tag punches. I threaded some linen thread through the eyelets to join them together. The journaling has been printed on the PC on to cardstock vellum and then torn and held in place with brads. The title uses the Timeless Type Big Shot alphabet die set and I cut the photos out using the Big Shot Circles die. Finally I used some Markers to add some doodling.

I'll share a secret with you - I copied this layout from one I made years ago, ahem......

I've had such a lovely afternoon today in the company of some great crafters at my Woodland Owl class. So sorry Laura couldn't make the new date - don't worry Laura, your kit is all ready for you and waiting with Donna!

I gave my class attendees a look at one of the classes I've designed and decided to give you a sneak peek too. It's my Big Shot Flower Daisies class:

The class will take place on Tuesday 23rd August at 7.30PM in Arnold and costs £15 or order the Flower Daisies die with your class (worth £16.95) and get the class for £23.50.

Off to have an early tea with the boys now as they need a good dunk in the bath after a hard afternoon at the park with Daddy!

Feelin Fruity

I have to thank Chrisse and Mandi this morning over at Less is More as I've been struggling with my mojo this week. They've set us the challenge of Feeling Fruity and straight away I knew what I wanted to make.

I generated the sentiment on the PC as I couldn't find anything suitably daft to go with my Strawberry buddy! I used Pristina font for the 'berry' and Calibri for the rest. I find printing straight on to Whisper White card works really well and the ink doesn't smudge either. Next I stamped the strawberry from Tart n Tangy in Poppy Parade and added arms and legs in Garden Green from All in the Family. I stamped the strawberry twice more in garden Green and cut out the leaf part. Then a girlie head from All in the Family and stuck it all down. I think ideally a bit of masking and over stamping would have worked better but i have run out of post it notes!

Can't wait to see all the fruity creations, what a fun challenge!

St Lukes Charity Card Challenge

My friend Zoe is a guest Designer and sponsor this month over at St Lukes Charity Card Challenge. The challenge is to create a card using black and white plus one otehr colour. To support Zoe I've used the Strength and Hope stamp set on my card and opted for pink as my extra colour. I'll also be posting this card along with a few others to the charity too.

It's a 5" square card using Whisper White, Basic Black and Pretty in Pink. The spotty paper is from the Neutrals DSP stack and I've stamped the sentiment stamp in Pretty in Pink over the white card to make my background. The grosgrain ribbon is also Pretty in Pink and the black pearl started off as a plain self adhesive pearl until I tampered with it by coating it all over using a Versmark pen and then sprinkling it with Black Embossing Powder and heat setting with the Heat tool. It does still keep it's self sticky too which amazes me!

I've been busy this morning cleaning - I so wish I had a tidy upper and a cleaner, how amazing would that be? Cleaning is NOT my favourite passtime!

July Workshop Projects

I thought I'd share with you the hostess gift and make and take project I've been doing in my July workshops. I saw the bag demo'd by Kate at Jules' training and fell in love with it there and then!

Much as I'd like to share some better photos of these with you, Blogger won't let me! It keeps rotating my photos - never mind!

I've used Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Night of Navy for these and Every Little Bit stamp set which has sooo many stamps in it is well worth the investment. If you'd like to order a set, please drop me an email at bluejellystampin@sky.com or give me a call on 07748 707845.

You can see the lades all got to play with the Big Shot on the Make and take card too by using the Square lattice embossing folder over the Old Olive card. It got many oohs and aaahs this month! I can bring the Big Shot along to your home workshop and you can try it out for free with your friends. Just ask me how. We also used the scallop trim border punch, Markers. grosgrain ribbon and a variety of punches. All finished off with some coordinating designer series papers.

I'm a bit tired this morning as have already got lots of chores done (still in my PJs though) and I had a late night last night chatting with one of my downline as we are hatching a bit of a fabulous plan. can't share yet but all will be revealed soon!

Must get dressed soon as Fluff and Sweet Cheeks are coming to see us later.

Broadsheet Birthday

Yesterday I showed you a baby keepsake box my friend Jo had asked me to make. Well she also asked me to make a 70th Birthday card for her Mother In Law. I wanted to try something a bit different for me and made this:

My colour combo is Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Night of Navy. I've been using this combo at my workshops this month for the hostess gift and the Make and takes and it's gone down really well. I stamped the sentiment using the Broadsheet Alphabet set and of course had to use my Stamp-ma-jig to make sure I lined all the letters up! The inside of the card is decorated too but I forgot to take a photo. I die cut the '70' using the Big Shot Timeless type die set and layered on a punched circle and scallop circle.

Yesterday afternoon Hubby took a little time off work and we took Zac to the cinema to see Cars 2. It was fabulous. Zac absolutely loved the whole experience, especially I think the popcorn element! I managed to get a photo of Mr Excited just before the film started:

My favourit bit was just as the screen switched on and the sound boomed out of the speakers - Zac jumped with such a start it was all I could do to grab his snack box ad save his popcorn. I was crying laughing!

Baby Keepsake Box

My friend Jo asked if I could make a baby keepsake box for a new baby girl. I don't make these very often now so it made a nice change. Everything I've used is Stampin' Up! except the box itself.

I've decorated the box with Pretty in Pink Striped Grosgrain and Satin ribbons, a few buttons and some silver elastic thread.

I got to use the Big Shot Timeless Type Alphabet die set again too to create the name. I used a punched heart using the owl punch about the 'i'. The washing line is another length of silver elastic thread, secured in place by a couple of Subtles Brads. Then onto a spot of paper piecing using the Bundle of Love and Little Additions sets. I layered these on using Dimensionals to give it some lift.

I hate to admit it but I think maybe I'm starting to find cutting out a bit theraputic! Off to make breakfast for the boys now, back tomorrow.

Sweet Buttons

I'm having a day at home with the boys today whilst hubby is getting some weekend work in. We spent the morning in the garden, mainly playing with the water table Blake's Grandparents got him for his birthday. After a substantial soaking I'd had enough and in we came. Whilst the boys had their lunch, I nipped up to the room of craft to make a card for the challenge this week at Less is More. I went for the 'buttons' option:

I've used Crumb Cake Card teamed with Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink and created my buttons using the Big Shot Sweet Buttons Embosslits die. I love it as it cuts six buttons and embossed them at the same time. My sentiment is from Bundle of Love. It was the reason I bought the set as I just think it's the most adorable baby sentiment I've ever seen. I stamped it in VersaMark ink and heat set with White Embossing powder.

I stuck my buttons in a rough line and then used the pricking tool and mat pack to create a straight, even line of holes and then drew my stitching with the White gel Pen. I decided to add a little pink to the hearts under the sentiment too.

I shared a photo of Blake with you the other day as he was trying so hard to go back to sleep after I'd woken him up at 8am in the morning to get him dressed and ready to come to school with Zac. Well sleeping seems to be his thing this week, firstly I popped in the kitchen to do a spot of work and it went very quiet in the lounge. I stuck my head around the door to find him here:

Totally crashed out bless him. I managed to scoop him up and pop a mat and a blanket under him without waking him up:

The following day he fell asleep half way through eating his lunch! Right, I had better go and get back to the boys. Zac has managed to work the sky remote and they're both watching a Disney film.

Last Day of term

What a shocker - I feel as emotional after dropping Zac off at pre-school for his last day of term as I did taking him in on his first day earlier this year. Didn't expect that. It was so cute seeing Zac giving each teacher a gift and giving them a big hug and a kiss. I've got to take my camera in when I go to pick him up later as I'd love a photo of him with his teachers. Anyway, gushing over with, here's the gifts I made for his teachers:

I made five sets but couldn't squeeze them all in to my light box. I've made each teacher a matching set of a card, covered journal, post it pad and pen, milk carton and a decorated bag too. The bags aren't Stampin' Up!

I really enjoyed decorating these On Board Journals. can you guess what I put inside the milk cartons?

Blue Jelly Belly beans of course - it would have been rude not too!! If you like these projects you'll be pleased to know I've designed a class based around them:

A Wedding

One of the teachers at Zac's pre-school asked me if I'd make her a wedding guest book and matching card for a friend of hers who is getting married soon. Happy to help:

The book itself isn't Stampin' Up! it's a white linen one I had already. I've decorated it using Daffodil Delight and Whisper White card along with patterned paper from Greenhouse Gala. The sentiments are printed on the PC directly on to Whisper White card and wrapped with Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon. My first ever attemp at makin a 3-D lili. Luckily my downline Tracy had shown me how to make them or I'd have been stuck! I made a box for the card as it's about 4cm high so needed a box to keep it safe. the inside of the card and box are decorated too but I forgot to take a photo.

Got to dash as my friend is here to cut my hair now!

Ahem - Animal Antics part two

Oh dear - last week I showed my age by posting my first DT creation back over at Die Cut Dreams and had to rapdily amend said post when I realised I was a week early! good job I have lots of animal stamps to choose from as our theme this week is 'Animal Antics'. you animal must be of the four legged variety though - no insects or butterflies please. I made a set of five notecards:

I've used the fun level two hostess set Longfellows and simply stamped them in Basic Gray on to Whisper White card and coloured in using Blender pens and ink pads. To keep them looking like a set, I used the scallop edge border punch on coloured card and layered on to Crumb Cake card bases. So easy to make, so if you have this set uninked - get your inks out! Oh and I added a little blong to the scalloped edges with some tiny Basic Pearls too.

Christmas Frames

Yesterday myself and my downline Tracy went over to Leeds to attend some training run by the lovely Jules. The drive over was terrible with the heavy rain and sent the sat nav a bit loopy. Yes hands up it send us down a road signposted Pudsey (where we were headed) but we ended up with the road turning into a single vehicle access and then erm, no further acces unless you were lucky enough to be a horse. Ahem, managed to turn around without getting the car stuck in the mud and re-set the sat nav (now renamed something similar but unprintable) and made it to training on time!

Jules had asked me to demo some of the 3-D box frames I've been making and as the event was Christmas themed, so were my projects. I grabbed this photo off Jules' blog as mine were a bit rubbish! Here's a 12x12 frame I did:

I used Bashful Blue, Old Olive and Poppy Parade for my colour combo and used loads of scraps and stickers and mainly the Every Little Bit stamp set which is fabulous value as you get 28 stamps. If you order it from me in July, I'll give you the instructions to make these box frames for free.

This is going to go on the wall in Zac's bedroom. It's a photo of him last year in Sherwood Forest watching the singing reindeers! I made a cute card to match:

One of the squares uses a sticker out of the Christmas Jingle simply scrapping kit. I love these kits, they're useful for so many things! I also made a more traditional 6" square frame:

This one features Very Vanilla, Real Red and Old Olive with Contempo Christmas and Delightful Decorations stamps. Oh and I spy Sparkly and Bright in there too!!

I had a brill day and met some fab ladies and came away buzzing with ideas. I just need a spare week to sit down and make loads of stuff now!

Big Birthday coming up

Nope not mine! My Step Mum will be celebrating her 70th later this year and I was chuffed she asked me to make the invites. Now that they've been sent out I can share them with you:

I used a combination of Whisper White and Daffodil Delight with the matching satin ribbon of course. The Schoolbook Serif '70' has been stamped with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with gold powder, as has the sentiment from the mini hostess set Something to Celebrate. I embossed the Whisper White card layer with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. I also did the insert and the envelopes to match too.

I used the Basic Pearls in the centre of the bows, but first I went over them whilst they were on the sheet with the Versamark pen and then coated with gold embossing powder and heated them up. I was amazed the pearls kept their sticky and one of the sticky fired back at me!

Pick a petal and a sleepy head

Thought I'd give you a bit of cheeky look at my August card making class. We'll be using the Pick a Petal stamp set and making lots of cards with things that aren't petals! We'll make flowers too, just wanted to show you how very versatile this particular set is.

The class is at 1.30PM on Saturday 27th August at my house in Arnold. The cost of the class is £30 which includes your own Pick a Petal stamp set (worth £26.95 with eleven stamps) and you'll get to make 10 cards too (the insides are also decoarated).

What our kids say.....

It's taken me days for blogger to allow me to upload this photo the right way around, finally managed it. I thought I'd share with you some of the things I made for our school fair. I made some packs of thank you cards, very similar to ones I made at the end of the winter term! To match I covered some shopping list notepads and added some pencils.

I've used the Tart n Tangy stamp set along with Thank You Kindly. Colours are Real Red, Wild Wasabi and a mix of Certainly Celery and Crumb Cake for the layers. I've made something completely different for Zac's teachers which I'll share another day, just on the off chance any of them look here!

We were able to wash Zac's hair last night at last as we were told to wait five days after he'd had his head glued. He was nervous about it hurting but was fine in the end. When I took him to pre-school this morning I heard some absolute corkers. One of the Mums told me her little boy had come home from school and told her 'Mummy, Zac's head fell right off and he had to go to hoppitly and have it glued back on'. So funny. Another Mum was saying how her little boy got one of the teachers names wrong and didn't understand why she ignored him for a week. He'd been calling her Miss Beaver when her name is really Miss Otter. I nearly fell on the floor laughing at that one!

Now then this is not my usual thing at all (having a bit of that recently what with making a Thomas the Tank Engine card too!). I recently had a stall at my sons pre-school sellin a few hand made bits and bobs. One of the teachers bought a stack of stuff and then asked me if I could make a notepad and pen set with a sheep on it. I said yes without really thinking what I could do and basically went home and had a little panic! After some time and lots of loking at punch art done by others I came up with this:

I had an image in my head of a sheep jumping over a gate and this turned out to be a bit of fun to make! I used the Scallop Circle punch for the body, the owl punch for the face (with the owls feet snipped off - ouch). The ears / horns are made using the five petal flower punch and the legs with the word window punch. You can see I've used other punches too for the wool above the face and the flower in it's mouth.

I've made an early start on my Christmas cards (well early for me):

Hooray, blogger is letting me add a photo today. yesterday it wouldn't let me! I've made a set of five one layer cards using the Dasher stamp. I've used shimmery white card for my base cards and then used a torn piece of paper, a dauber and Bashful Blue ink to create my snow. Dasher has been stamped in Basic Grey rather than black and I've added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to his antlers. Well - you've got to for Christmas haven't you?

I made a matching box to pop them in too and added a bit more detail to this using the scallop trim border punch and a few extra layers plus I used the jewellery tag punch to create some little tags. Oh and the sentiment is also from the Tiny Tags set.

I think the cards are appropriate for joining in with the Less is More challenge this week which is to see something with legs on a one layer card.

My Little Man is Two

My littlest Blake is two today! Where did the time go? (I must be getting old to say that). We were going to have a bit of a party this afternoon for him but are going to do it another day as his brother Zac needs a bit of peace and quiet and rest today.

Yesterday he fell off his chair and split his head open so it was a dash up to A and E, typical Jelly.....almost out of petrol, two screaming boys in the car, get to the hospital and there is no parking anywhere near the A and E department. Found a car parking space - no change for the meter. So I left a note on the dashboard saying I had to get to A and E etc. Then it started to really rain and I had a long walk, pushing the buggy and carrying a screaming Zac. Walked in to A and E, dripping wet, blood everywhere and burst into tears!! Anyway, after three long hours at the hospital we came away after having Zac's head cleaned and glued and he is now fine.

So hopefully on Sunday if the weather dries up we are going to take Blake to Thomasland to celebrate. He loves Thomas so I made him this card:

It's made entirely with Stampin' Up! products took me longer than any card I've made before! I used a variety of punches and Big Shot dies. Around the tunnel the bricks are made using the small jewellery punch. I love the Timeless Type alphabet and numbers die set - it's so versatile on cards and for scrapbooking.

I made a Thomas cake too - I was really pleased with the cake itself, a dairy free madiera cake, it didn't sink in the middle or anything. But then we move on to my cake decorating skills. Shall we say I'm less than amateur and all you cake makers out there are in for a real laugh now.......ta dah:

A Woodland Owl or two

Happy Birthday Little Guy

Today my first son Flynn would have been five years old. Every year we celebrate his birthday even though he's not here to celebrate with us. His grandparents are taking his little brothers to the park today and then they're going to have fun with hellium balloons and cake!

Here's his card from us:

Last year we bought him a book called Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs and it's his little brothers favourite bed time story now so Zac asked me to make a pirate card for Flynn. I don't have the pirate stamp set (yet) so used the owl punch and the Sail Away stamp to make this one. The five has been cut out from Play Date papers.

Simple but cute

A very simple and quick card from me today using the Owl Punch:

I used my favourite Crumb Cake for the base and teamed it up with Early Espresso card and a scrap of Springtime Vintage DSP. I added a bow in Early Espresso 3mm tafetta ribbon and some googlie eyes from my kiddy craft stash!

I've got to make a leaving present and card today for one of Zac's pre shool teachers who finishes the school year early tomorrow as she's going in to hospital. Time is ticking and I haven't a clue what to make for her yet.

Oh and some exciting news, I applied to re-join the design team at Die Cut Dreams Challenge after stepping down last year and luckily for me - I'm back on the team! Can't wait to make my first creation for them.

Had a busy day at the park today with the boys. We took a picnic, drove to a country park and made a day of it. Great fun. So no time for crafting, but i do have some cards to show you that we made at my last all day class in June:

I used Very Vanilla card, So Many Thanks and Sweet and Sour designer papers. We made a matching box too but I didn't take a photo of that - typical!

Shades of blue

It's such a relief to have a new PC after the death of my laptop, I've really missed blogging and hoping. Great to be back and to be able to join in with the latest challenge over at Less is More which to is use shades of blue. Here's mine:

I've made a simple card using up some blue scraps (now that my scraps are all perfectly organised!) and the Word Window Punch to create my border. Then the Engraved Greetings sentiment stamped in Night Of Navy with a few highlights using a Tempting Turquoise marker.

Had to nip out to the boys playhouse to get a photo in the light!

First School Year Album and Class

My lovely friend Jules very kindly gave me permission to case a mini album she'd made a while back to use for one of my classes. Of course I had to make one myself first! this album is all about Zac's first year at his pre-school:

Christmas All Day Class

New Club and Preview of Make and Take!

At the start of the club each member is given an Idea Book and Catalogue and a Mini Catalogue and allocated a hostess month. On your hostess month you receive both the hostess gift and the hostess spends which will always be a minimum of £15

Now when I do a home party, I demonstrate a project each month and explain how to make this to all the guests. As ours is a virtual party, I will put photographs of this project along with instructions of how to create it on a special invitation only blog.

At my home parties all the guests get to try out the products before they order by sitting down to have a go at a Make and Take projects. Our virtual party will be no different! Each month with your order you will find a packet with your Make and Take Supplies inside. Again, photos of the completed project and step by step instructions will be posted on the party blog. More from my all day class

I forgot to show you some more of the projects the ladies made at my all day class at the start of this month! My favourite set uses the beautiful Ornate Blossom stamp, Sincere Salutations and the gorgeous Whisper White Note Cards. I love these so much, you get a set of 20 Note Cards and 20 envelopes in a pack for £6.75. So as well as having the lovely smooth card to stamp on, you get the equally smooth envelopes too.

I stamped the Blossom on the card and again on a piece of Whisper White card, cut out the centre and layered it above the first one in a different colour. I also stamped the envelopes with the smaller image from Ornate Flowers. I love that we have the same image in different sizes. Here's one of the cards:

I've been busy this weekend doing a few more bits in my craft room. I'm at the stage now where it's ready to paint, I just can't decide what colour to go for, I'm fed up of magnolia! Once it's all finished I'll share some photos with you.
