ILWS New Product Blog Hop

Hopefully you're visiting as part of the In Love With Stamping blog hop. There are lots of Stampin' Up! demos showcasing projects made with the new products that were released at the start of May. Some of these products are limited stock, so if you love them, contact me soon to chat about placing an order! If you're following the hop, you'll have arrived here from  Elaines blog  and seen the fabulous project she had created for you. I've made three things and I'll start with my Cupcake:

I followed a video tutorial off You tube that I've used a couple of times before, but this is the first one I've made using just SU products and I love it! I'm entering this into a couple of challenges: Pollycraft - hidden message, Crazy 4 Challenges - Pleats Here's a different view so you can see what it's made of:

I've used Cottage Wall designer papers to make the base and all the punched flowers and punched small circles for the centres. I've hand sewn (!!) the ribbons and scrunched them up to get the ruffled effect and everything is attached to a styrofoam ball with a hot glue gun. What's the point? Well hidden inside:

OK - so it should be a gift card but I forgot to get one so an old Ikea card will have to do for the photo! It's attached to a small clip from the clips assortment and I've punched to 1 inch circles for the cherry and drowned them in diamond glaze.

My next project is a card using the Floral Fantasy window sheet:

I found this quite difficult to photograph but hope you can see it well enough. I used Very Vanilla for the back of the card and attached the Floral fantasy piece using a creased piece of Melon Mambo, wrapped with Soft Suede ribbon and secured with a lilac brad. The sentiment is from Occasional Greetings and it may look like it's been done with the babywipe technique but it wasn't - I inked it up first with Orchid Opulence, then rocked Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo over the edges before stamping. Quite like the effect. Finished off with a punched butterfly.

My final project is a set of cards in an acrylic box:

I got the box as part of a swap over at ILWS and this is the first time I've used one. They're perfect for holding A6 cards and C6 envelopes. So I made 6! Here's the box without the contents:

I've simply cut a strip of Cottage Wall paper and wrapped around the base of the box, added some Rich Razzleberry spotty ribbon and another stamped sentiment from Occasional Greetings. I'll be using these boxes in my July classes! Here are the contents:

I always find when making a few of the same thing to keep it simple! I stamped the sentiment in the same way as before, layered up on the three new colours of card and stuck down along with a strip of Cottage Wall DSP - simples!

I hope I've inspired you in some way with these projects, now to continue the hop, please visit the lovely Emma to see what yumminess she has waiting for you!

Hugs
